87th anniversary of Atatürk’s passing to eternity

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan attended the commemoration ceremony held at Anıtkabir on the 87th anniversary of the passing of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of the Republic of Türkiye.

The ceremony at Anıtkabir (Atatürk’s Mausoleum) began as high-ranking state officials walked on the Lion Road. President Erdoğan and other high-ranking officials laid wreaths at Atatürk’s mausoleum and observed a moment of silence at 09:05 a.m.

After the national anthem was sung, President Erdoğan wrote the following in the Anıtkabir Special Book at Misak-ı Millî Tower:

“August Atatürk,

On the 87th anniversary of your passing to eternity, we remember with grace Your Excellency, your comrades-in-arms and our gallant martyrs, who have shed their blood for our homeland throughout centuries.

Protecting the Republic of Türkiye, which you call ‘my greatest work’, with passion, we continue to embroider every inch of our country with new works. We work round-the-clock for a peaceful and stable Türkiye at home, and a reputable and victorious one abroad. Led by confident and competent cadres, Türkiye walks with firm steps on the path to becoming a global power.

May you rest in peace!”
