“Earthquake preparedness is a matter of survival for Türkiye”

 

Speaking at the opening ceremony of newly-completed multiple facilities in Kocaeli, President Erdoğan said: “We have seen with the disaster of the century on February 6 that earthquake preparedness is a matter of survival for Türkiye.”

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made a speech at the opening ceremony of Gölcük Public Hospital and other newly-completed projects in Kocaeli.

Reminding the Marmara earthquake that took place on August 17, 1999, President Erdoğan once again wished Allah’s mercy upon the citizens who lost their lives in the earthquake, and said: “We have seen with the disaster of the century on February 6 that earthquake preparedness is a matter of survival for Türkiye.”

President Erdoğan noted that they as the government do what is necessary and mobilize all the means of the state in order not to experience similar sufferings.
