“May the ceasefire lead to auspicious outcomes for all our Palestinian brothers and sisters”

 

Holding a joint press conference with President Khurelsukh of Mongolia, President Erdoğan, regarding the ceasefire deal reached by Hamas and Israel, said: “I hope that the deal will lead to auspicious outcomes for all our Palestinian brothers and sisters, first and foremost the people of Gaza who have been patiently resisting the Israeli oppression for 467 days. Although over 50 thousand people, most of them women and children, have been martyred, Gaza has not given in, it could not be captured, and the Gazans have not bowed down to the oppressor.”

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made remarks regarding the ceasefire deal reached by Hamas and Israel during the press conference he held with President Ukhnaa Khurelsukh of Mongolia at the Presidential Complex.

President Erdoğan said: “I would like to touch upon the ceasefire deal reached last night by Hamas, the Palestinian resistance movement, and Israel. I hope that the deal will lead to auspicious outcomes for all our Palestinian brothers and sisters, first and foremost the people of Gaza who have been patiently resisting the Israeli oppression for 467 days. We thank all the intermediary countries, Qatar and Egypt in particular, which have contributed to the reaching of the agreement. Although over 50 thousand people, most of them women and children, have been martyred, Gaza has not given in, it could not be captured, and the Gazans have not bowed down to the oppressor. The joy, enthusiasm and pride, which spread to the streets of Gaza throughout last night, is the result of this very unshakeable faith and gallant fight. Now, such very important duties as the removal of the great destruction Israel has caused in Gaza and the uninterrupted delivery of humanitarian aid to the region await us. We as the alliance of humanity should work harder especially from now on in order for the ceasefire to be obeyed and for the wounds in Gaza to be healed. Likewise in Syria… We will inshallah continue our path by shouldering our burdens in both sides.”

“THE ISRAELI GOVERNMENT MUSTN’T BE ALLOWED TO VIOLATE OR EXPLOIT THE CEASEFIRE”

Underscoring that Israel maintaining its attacks and massacres today despite the deal has rightfully increased their concerns, President Erdoğan noted: “The Israeli government mustn’t be allowed to violate or exploit the ceasefire. The international community should fulfill this legal and moral duty of theirs against the people of Gaza, who have sacrificed their 50 thousand children. As we have been saying for years, the permanent peace and stability in the Middle East is possible only through the restoration of peace in Palestine and the end of the injustices suffered by the Palestinians. We think that peace negotiations for the establishment of an independent, sovereign, and territorially integral State of Palestine, based on the 1967 borders, with East al-Quds as its capital, should immediately start. On behalf of my country and nation, I once again greet with respect my brothers and sisters, who have not handed over Gaza to the oppressors at the cost of their lives, remember with grace the Palestinian martyrs and wish a speedy recovery to the injured.”
