“More peaceful days than ever before await Türkiye”
Addressing AK Party’s provincial congress in Erzurum, President Erdoğan said: “Crises and conflicts have also had some negative impacts on our economy. This cannot be prevented in a globalizing world. Yet, we know that all of these problems, troubles and hardships are conjectural, which means that they are temporary. Türkiye has the capabilities to overcome all of them. Even though we face some hardships at the present, more peaceful, more prosperous and more beautiful days than ever before await Türkiye.”
President and Justice and Development (AK) Party Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan delivered a speech at the party’s 8th Ordinary Provincial Congress in Erzurum.
Noting that the world and the region have been going through turbulent times recently, President Erdoğan said: “The global system is faced with one of the severest crises of the last eight or nine decades. The Coronavirus pandemic caused the emergence of new problems in every area from economy to trade, security to social life.”
“TÜRKİYE STANDS OUT AS A KEY COUNTRY OF THE REGION”
Recalling that the Russia-Ukraine war will enter its fourth year in February, President Erdoğan stated: “440 days have passed since Israel’s massacres in Gaza started. Our 50 thousand Palestinian brothers and sisters have died in these attacks, with 110 thousand others wounded. Israel’s harassments against Lebanon continue despite the ceasefire. Our country is of course affected by all these incidents, wars and crises. If your neighbor’s home catches fire, either its flames or its smoke reach you. All this notwithstanding, Türkiye earns praise as an island of stability in the middle of this turmoil and stands out as a key country of the region.”
President Erdoğan continued his remarks as follows: “We have not allowed the fire raging around us to spill into our country. With balanced, cautious and fair policies, we have successfully managed these complicated processes, and continue to do so. It was also during this period that we lost more than 53 thousand lives in the February 6 earthquakes, dubbed ‘the disaster of the century’. Do you know the cost of the earthquake for our country? 104 billion dollars. Crises and conflicts have also had some negative impacts on our economy.
“SYRIAN PEOPLE ACHIEVED A MAGNIFICENT VICTORY”
Stressing that a true popular revolution has taken place in Syria in recent days, President Erdoğan said: “The Baath regime has become a total history after 61 years of oppression, tyranny, cruelty and darkness. Assad, who caused the death of 1 million innocent people in his country, was forced to flee Damascus overnight with his tail between his legs. After a 13-year-long tough struggle, the Syrian people achieved a magnificent victory that makes both themselves and us proud. You also see on televisions; people are smiling in the streets of Aleppo, Hama, Homs, Daraa, Latakia and Damascus after years. For the first time in 13 years, our Syrian brothers and sisters are looking to the future with hope. They are looking with joy and excitement. Syrian innocents are sincerely thanking and praying for Türkiye and the Turkish nation, who have provided shelter to them for 13 years.”
