“Nowruz is a festival of our entire nation and our entire geography”

Addressing a Nowruz Day event, President Erdoğan said: “Nowruz is not a festival of any particular ethnic group, but of our entire nation and our entire geography, including Alevis, Sunnis, Turks, and Kurds. Nowruz is also the most important symbol of our shared culture, common history, and the unity of our destiny and hearts.”
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan delivered a speech at a Nowruz Day event in Istanbul.
“TÜRKİYE WILL CONTINUE TO STAND BY ITS PALESTINIAN BROTHERS AND SISTERS”
President Erdoğan said: “Conflicts, oppressions and massacres raging in different parts of our geography cast a shadow over the atmosphere of Ramadan that softens our hearts. Particularly the children, women, civilians and innocents dying a martyr’s death in Gaza rip our hearts out. As it has done so far, Türkiye, with all its means and resources, will continue to stand by its Palestinian brothers and sisters during these difficult days they are going through.”
Noting that Türkiye has stepped up its humanitarian aid to support its brothers and sisters in Gaza ahead of Eid al-Fitr, President Erdoğan went on: “We have intensified our diplomatic engagements to restore the ceasefire, end the oppression, and stop the genocide network. We have been doing, and will continue to do, whatever it takes to ensure that the terror state that thrives on the blood of children is condemned both in the conscience of humanity and at international courts.”
President Erdoğan added: “We will never allow this gang of genocide, getting more spoiled and more reckless day by day, to turn our region into a sea of blood. Those drawing up new maps in their own ways will not be able to reach their insidious and evil targets. As the nations that have peacefully co-existed in this geography for thousands of years, we, together, will build our future filled by peace, tranquility, and stability. May Allah help all innocents.”
“NOWRUZ IS THE MOST IMPORTANT SYMBOL OF OUR SHARED CULTURE AND COMMON HISTORY”
President Erdoğan stated: “Nowruz is not a festival of any particular ethnic group, but of our entire nation and our entire geography, including Alevis, Sunnis, Turks, and Kurds. Nowruz is also the most important symbol of our shared culture, common history, and the unity of our destiny and hearts.”
President Erdoğan continued: “During this meaningful gathering, I would like to share a wish of ours with you. We are of the opinion that it is high time to celebrate Nowruz Day, which is already an official holiday in some of the brotherly countries, collectively under the roof of the Organization of Turkic States, just like the Turkic States Cooperation Day marked on October 3 every year.”
“During the next summit in May in Hungary, we will propose the adoption of the Nowruz Day as an shared occasion of collective commemoration and celebration by the Turkic world. We hope that with the approval of our brothers and sisters, March 21 Nowruz Day will become a day of collective commemoration and celebration that cements our unity and solidarity. As the cooperation in the Turkic world deepens, the winds of peace will flow stronger in our region,” President Erdoğan said.
“WE SHALL NOT TURN A BLIND EYE TO OPPORTUNISTS SEEKING TO DISRUPT OUR NATION’S PEACE”
Stating that Türkiye has peacefully passed critical thresholds in its multidimensional efforts toward becoming a terror-free country, President Erdoğan said: “We believe that the final stretch will also be surmounted without unnecessarily complicating or prolonging the process. We will inshallah open the door to a distinctive era once we liberate our country and region from the scourge of terror. We will therefore be liberated from a massive trouble that inflicts billions of dollars of economic burden on our country every year.”
“I would like to make hereby a very important reminder: On such a special day when we are observing the Holy Month of Ramadan and Nowruz Day concurrently, we are witnessing attempts to use a corruption case in Istanbul as an excuse to cause unrest in our streets. First and foremost, I want it to be known that we shall not turn a blind eye to a handful of incompetent opportunists who seek to disrupt our nation’s peace, provoke our people, and terrorize Türkiye just for the sake of their self-interests, benefits and the preservation of their schemes of profit and plunder. We have not allowed our nation’s eternal brotherhood to be undermined thus far, nor will we allow it in the future,” President Erdoğan said, adding that no one can get anywhere in Türkiye by challenging democracy and the national will or by resorting to unlawful, immoral, and anti-democratic methods.
