President and AK Party Chairman Erdoğan spoke at the Extended Provincial Heads' Meeting

 

Speaking at a meeting with AK Party’s provincial heads, President Erdoğan said: “Türkiye, with its political, diplomatic, economic and military capacity, will always stand by the Syrian people in their historic struggle. As we have always said, Syria belongs to Syrians with all its faith groups and ethnic segments.”

President and Justice and Development (AK) Party Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan delivered a speech at a meeting with AK Party’s provincial heads at party headquarters in Ankara.

“The Syrian people have crowned their noble resistance, in which they stood up for their freedom, rights, justice, and future, with glory by overthrowing a long-standing regime of oppression,” President Erdoğan said.

“It is our belief and prayer that after 61 years of Baathist dictatorship, which has been literally pitch black for the last 13 years, Syria has now reached bright days,” President Erdoğan said.

“The minority regime, which the tyrant Assad has been trying to sustain for years through oppression, persecution and massacres, has now collapsed with the liberation of Damascus on Sunday, December 8,” President Erdoğan said.

Stating that the recent developments have paved the way for a prosperous and happy future for the Syrian people, President Erdoğan said that terrorist organizations such as DAESH, PKK and YPG in other parts of the country will soon be crushed, thus Syria's territorial integrity and sovereignty will be fully consolidated across the entire country.

“SUFFERINGS OF THE PAST WILL LIGHT THE WAY TO A PEACEFUL, STRONG AND PROSPEROUS SYRIA”

“At a time when the Syrian people are so close to restoring their unity, integrity and brotherhood, we do not think that any power with reason and conscience will continue to work with terrorist organizations. Türkiye, with its political, diplomatic, economic and military capacity, will always stand by the Syrian people in their historic struggle. As we have always said, Syria belongs to Syrians with all its faith groups and ethnic segments. We sincerely hope and wish that the sufferings of the past will light the way to a peaceful, strong and prosperous Syria in the future,” President Erdoğan said.

“I would like to take this occasion to remind all those who have their eyes on Syrian territory that we, as Türkiye, have made great sacrifices and made great efforts to help Syria reach the level it has attained today. For years, we have supported and protected the Syrian people, on whom everyone turned their backs, both within our territory and near our borders. We did not complained. On the contrary, we were pleased to do so. In a difficult period when our humanity and faith as Muslims were tested, our Lord granted us to pass the test of brotherhood with honor,” President Erdoğan said.

“WE CANNOT ALLOW SYRIA TO BE DIVIDED AGAIN”

“We cannot allow Syria to be divided again. We can never let the country become a conflict zone again. We cannot accept any step, any provocation aimed at preventing the return of the brotherly Syrian people to their homes. Türkiye, along with the Syrian people, will stand against any attack against the freedom of the Syrian people, the stability of the new Syrian administration and the integrity of the ancient Syrian lands. We will not stand idly by as some people encircle our region in blood and fire for the sake of their fanatical beliefs, perverted ideologies, sick dreams and the courage they derive from the powers they rely on. The lessons we have learned from the events in Syria, the ongoing tragedy in Palestine and the ongoing war in our north tell us that we must act in this way,” President Erdoğan said.

President Erdoğan stated that they want security, peace and prosperity for all.

“The way to ensure our own security, peace, political and economic stability is to spread this climate throughout our region. Otherwise, we have all seen and experienced together the difficulty of preserving the gains we have achieved with great efforts. I would like to take this occasion to congratulate the brotherly Syrian people once again for the magnificent revolution they have accomplished. We will always be with the Syrian refugees in our country who are preparing to return to their homes, just as we have done here, wherever they go,” President Erdoğan said.

“We will continue to provide all kinds of support to Syria's recovery in every sense. I pray to my Lord that our Palestinian brothers and sisters will also find security and peace as soon as possible,” President Erdoğan said.
