President Erdoğan addressed the nation after the Cabinet Meeting

 

Delivering remarks following the Presidential Cabinet Meeting, President Erdoğan drew attention to the progress Türkiye has made in the area of energy, and said: “We continue our works with the vision of ‘a fully independent Türkiye in energy’. The daily natural gas production in Filyos has exceeded 5.1 million cubic meters. We meet the natural gas need of two million houses from here.”

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held a press conference following the Presidential Cabinet Meeting at the Presidential Complex.

Commencing his speech by wishing Allah’s mercy upon the two pilots who have died a martyr’s death earlier today in a military training plane crash, President Erdoğan extended his condolences to the families of the pilots, the Turkish Air Force and the gallant Turkish military.

“THE DAILY NATURAL GAS PRODUCTION IN FİLYOS HAS EXCEEDED 5.1 MILLION CUBIC METERS”

Drawing attention to the progress Türkiye has made in the area of energy, President Erdoğan said: “We continue our works with the vision of ‘a fully independent Türkiye in energy’. The daily natural gas production in Filyos has exceeded 5.1 million cubic meters. We meet the natural gas need of two million houses from here.”

Stating that Fatih drilling vessel has launched its works for new discoveries in Göktepe-1 and Göktepe-2 wells, and added: “We have broken the Republican era record by increasing the daily oil production in Gabar to over 43,380 barrels. Inshallah, we aim to reach 100 thousand barrels a day. Our search-exploration and drilling activities continue on other sites in the region, Hakkari and Siirt in particular.”

“As the dark and bloody shadow of terror over our Eastern and South Eastern Anatolia regions disappears, we, with Allah’s permission, will get much better results. Türkiye has begun to benefit from its resources, which it could not make use of for tens of years due to treacherous terrorist acts. As terror loses ground in the region, not only our economy will grow, but also our democracy will flourish and strengthen as well,” President Erdoğan said.

“WE HAVE STRENGTHENED OUR ENERGY AND MINING COOPERATION WITH MANY COUNTRIES”

Noting that the 90 per cent of the construction of the first reactor of Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant has been completed, President Erdoğan stated that the mechanical tests have been started in the reactor, and continued as follows: “We have strengthened our energy and mining cooperation with many countries, especially the Gulf Region, through new agreements. In this regard, we have built cooperation with Algeria, Iran, Iraq, Japan, Venezuela, the United States of America, Azerbaijan, Georgia and the People’s Republic of China. We are making a huge progress in line with our goal of being a natural gas trade hub. BOTAS has begun natural gas exportation to Bulgaria, Hungary and Romania. Thus, for the first time we have exported natural gas to two European countries, with which we do not share a border.”

Further noting that the groundbreaking of Iğdır-Nakhchivan Natural Gas Pipeline has already been made, President Erdoğan added that Nakhchivan’s annually 500-million-cubic-meter natural gas need will be met over Türkiye once  the pipeline is completed.

Also touching upon the start of the journey of TURKSAT 6A, Türkiye’s first-ever indigenously-produced communication satellite, President Erdoğan went on to say that with the entry into service of TURKSAT 6A, the population Türkiye’s satellites reach will increase from 3.5 billion to 5 billion, underscoring that with the production of TURKSAT 6A, Türkiye has taken its place among the 10 countries that produce their own communication satellites.
