President Erdoğan addressed the nation after the Cabinet Meeting

Delivering remarks following the Presidential Cabinet Meeting, President Erdoğan said: “As Israel steps up its expansionist policies, we as the countries of the region must consolidate our line of solidarity. We have expedited our efforts in order for the Islamic world to display a more determined stance against the genocide in Gaza, now in its 12th month. It is now clearly visible that the Israeli government seeks to expand its policies of occupation and invasion to include al-Aqsa Mosque, our first qiblah.”

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held a press conference following the Presidential Cabinet Meeting at the Presidential Complex.

“WE ARE IN CLOSE DIALOGUE WITH EGYPT ON REGIONAL ISSUES”

Touching upon Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi’s visit to Türkiye on September 4, President Erdoğan said: “We took the Türkiye-Egypt relations to a much higher level with Mr. el-Sisi’s return visit following our historic visit to Egypt back in February. This important visit was crowned with 17 memoranda of understanding we signed in various fields. We are in close dialogue with Egypt on regional issues, particularly Gaza, the Eastern Mediterranean and North Africa. We support Egyptian authorities in their mediation efforts for the unhindered flow of humanitarian aid and the declaration of a ceasefire in Gaza.”

“WE HAVE EXPEDITED OUR EFFORTS IN ORDER FOR THE ISLAMIC WORLD TO DISPLAY A MORE DETERMINED STANCE AGAINST THE GENOCIDE IN GAZA”

Stressing the importance of solidarity and cooperation among the countries of the region to stop Israel’s ongoing genocide in Gaza, President Erdoğan stated: “As Israel steps up its expansionist policies, we as the countries of the region must consolidate our line of solidarity. We have expedited our efforts in order for the Islamic world to display a more determined stance against the genocide in Gaza, now in its 12th month. It is now clearly visible that the Israeli government seeks to expand its policies of occupation and invasion to include al-Aqsa Mosque, our first qiblah. Zionists’ harassments and raids against al-Haram al-Sharif are on the rise. We are closely monitoring all of these.”

“IT IS URGENT FOR THE ORGANIZATION OF ISLAMIC COOPERATION TO CONVENE AT THE LEADERS’ LEVEL WITHOUT DELAY”

Describing al-Quds as a red line, President Erdoğan said: “It is unthinkable that the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, whose duty is to defend the cause of al-Quds, would remain indifferent to these attacks that are becoming more and more reckless day by day. It is urgent for the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to convene at the leaders’ level without delay and show the Islamic world’s determined stance. We will increase our talks on this issue.”

President Erdoğan further stressed: "As a nation that made history with the epic of resistance against the imperialist powers of the time during the War of Independence, we stand with our Palestinian brothers. It is us who can understand the best the meaning of the struggle being put up in Gaza, in Ramallah.”

“WE WILL TAKE EVERY LEGAL STEP TO ENSURE THAT AYŞENUR EZGİ'S BLOOD IS NOT LEFT UNAVENGED”

President Erdoğan continued his remarks as follows: “On this occasion, I remember with mercy our child, Ayşenur Ezgi Eygi, who was treacherously killed by Israeli security forces during protests the previous day, and offer my condolences to her family and friends. We will take every legal step to ensure that Ayşenur Ezgi's blood is not left unavenged, and we will continue our fight against Israel at the highest level including by applying to the International Court of Justice in The Hague. The genocidal Israeli administration, which has murdered 41 thousand people- whether it be children, women, civilian, or the elderly- will definitely be held accountable for the crimes it commits.”
