President Erdoğan addressed the nation after the Cabinet Meeting
Delivering remarks following the Presidential Cabinet Meeting, President Erdoğan said: “We will definitely establish and consolidate a prosperous, peaceful and safe climate throughout our country where there is no terrorism, where the dark shadow of the separatist organization is totally removed from politics and society. As we stated in our group meeting, there is no place for terrorism or terror-backed politics in Türkiye's future.”
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held a press conference following the Presidential Cabinet Meeting at the Çankaya Presidential Palace in Ankara.
“I would like to begin my remarks by commemorating once again Ghazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the Commander-in-Chief of the national struggle and the founder of our Republic, with grace on the 86th anniversary of his passing. I remember with reverence our ancestors, especially our heroic martyrs and veterans, who have struggled to keep these lands as our homeland for a thousand years,” President Erdoğan said.
“In our AK Party Group Meeting, we shared our stance and views on the issues on the agenda with the public. The framework we outlined in detail in our group speech should be seen as a road map for the politics of the coming period,” President Erdoğan said.
“We wish to turn the 101st anniversary of our Republic into a great occasion to embrace one another as 85 million people. We will definitely establish and consolidate a prosperous, peaceful and safe climate throughout our country where there is no terrorism, where the dark shadow of the separatist organization is totally removed from politics and society. As we stated in our group meeting, there is no place for terrorism or terror-backed politics in Türkiye's future. Türkiye is determined to tear apart this bloody and treacherous plot of death fueled by the terror barons in Qandil. And it will not back down from this. Our fight is not limited to those who fire at our soldiers, police, security guards and civilian citizens. Our actual fight is not only with the terrorists, but also with those who unleashed them on us, those who have inflicted terrorism on this nation for 40 years,” President Erdoğan said.
“WE WILL RID OUR COUNTRY OF TERRORISM”
“I would like to emphasize that while the borders in our region are being redrawn with blood, bombs and political assassinations, we as a state and a nation will not go on in the same old way. While the global system is going through its greatest change since the Cold War, we do not have the luxury of watching the developments from the sidelines. Either we will somehow turn this process in our favor with bold steps or, we will be faced with problems that will encumber our future. At the forefront of the obstacles is the scourge of separatist terrorism. By utilizing all the means and capabilities at our disposal, we will inshallah rid our country of this terrorist burden once and for all,” President Erdoğan said.
“I also would like to strongly underline this point once again; Democracy and violence, civilian politics and terrorism do not and cannot coexist in the same pot. In no civilized country in the world is it permissible to engage in politics, backed by a terrorist organization. In every part of the world, including Europe, such an attitude is grounds for the closure of political parties and criminal prosecution for those who engage in such politics, because the first and foremost condition of democracy is to reject violence and to build thick walls between terrorism and yourself. While the legitimate doors of civilian politics are wide open in our country, those who serve as puppets to the separatist organization through fraudulent methods can never be expected to be tolerated,” President Erdoğan underscored.
“The following inconsistency does not escape the eyes of our nation as well as us: Those who have been making a fuss for two weeks about the legal and administrative measures taken by the judiciary and the administration against some municipalities have unfortunately persistently ignored the dirty and bloody hands reaching from Qandil to local governments. It is without a doubt that municipalities run not by elected mayors, but by shady characters appointed by the terrorist organization will serve the organization instead of their cities. We will never allow the halal resources allocated to municipalities from the taxes paid by the people to be transferred to the separatist thieves. We cannot turn a blind eye to the terrorist organization establishing extortion mechanisms with municipal power. We will never allow this country and our cities to experience a scene where the commissars of the separatist organization slap mayors in the cellars of municipal buildings, where municipal vehicles and equipment are used to dig ditches, not for service,” President Erdoğan said.
“OUR EXPORT VOLUME REACHED $23.6 BILLION IN OCTOBER”
“The rise in our exports, which we see as the engine of our economy, continues nonstop. Our exports in October increased by 3.6 percent compared to the same month last year and reached $23.6 billion. With the record in October, the monthly export record was broken in 10 of the last 15 months. Our annualized export volume increased by 3.1 percent to a total of $262.3 billion. As of October, the annualized foreign trade deficit in the last 12 months decreased by $35.1 billion compared to the same month of the previous year,” President Erdoğan said.
“THE GROSS RESERVES OF OUR CENTRAL BANK HAVE REACHED THE HIGHEST LEVEL IN OUR HISTORY WITH $159 BILLION”
“In line with exports of goods, we are steadily increasing our share in global services exports. In the first 8 months of the year, our services exports increased by 7.3 percent compared to the same period of the previous year, totaling $74 billion. We expect the annualized current account deficit to narrow to $9-10 billion in October,” President Erdoğan said. “Today, I would like to share with you the good news that the gross reserves of our Central Bank have reached the highest level in our history with $159 billion.”
“Türkiye is positively distinguishing itself among emerging economies both by the program it is implementing and the potential it possesses. It is of course no coincidence that we are the only country whose rating has been upgraded by two grades each by the three major credit rating agencies. As we implement our economic program decisively, we will continue to achieve positive results in many other areas,” President Erdoğan underlined.
“The tourism figures for the three quarters of 2024 released by the TÜİK (Turkish Statistical Institute) show that we have achieved a very significant momentum here as well. Accordingly, our third quarter tourism revenue, covering the July-August-September period, increased by 3.9 percent compared to the same quarter of the previous year and reached $23.2 billion. In the same period, the number of visitors increased by 3.5 percent compared to the same quarter of 2023 and reached 23.2 million people. In the first 9 months, we broke a record in this area by reaching a total tourism revenue of $47 billion. Our target for the end of 2024 is 61 million tourists and $60 billion in tourism revenue. Despite the regional crises, we will inshallah achieve these figures,” President Erdoğan said.
