President Erdoğan addressed the nation after the Cabinet Meeting

Delivering remarks following the Presidential Cabinet Meeting, President Erdoğan said: “What Türkiye is doing for Palestine, Gaza, and Lebanon is far greater than what is visible, what is being articulated, or what is covered by the media. We will stand by our brothers and sisters with all our strength and all our means until the genocide stops and Gaza and Palestine are fully liberated.”

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held a press conference following the Presidential Cabinet Meeting at the Presidential Complex.

“WE ARE THE TOP PROVIDER OF HUMANITARIAN AID TO GAZA”

President Erdoğan said: “We have a very busy and complicated agenda in foreign policy. Israel’s aggression against Gaza, which started on October 7, 2023, is expanding to Syria and other countries. For exactly 14 months, a highly bloody and extremely dangerous war has been ongoing right next to Türkiye, despite some individuals’ insistence on ignoring it. Türkiye is among the countries responding to the Israeli government’s aggressive policies in the strongest manner since day one. We highlight the atrocities in Gaza at every international meeting we attend. With nearly 86 thousand tons of humanitarian aid, we are the top provider of humanitarian aid to Gaza. We have renounced a trade volume of nearly 9.5 billion dollars by halting all trade with Israel.”

President Erdoğan stated: “We submitted our application a few months ago to intervene in the genocide case filed against Israel at the International Court of Justice. We have been endeavoring for all the international organizations, particularly the United Nations, to take measures to force Israel into putting an end to conflicts. We have been making intensive efforts to ensure the Islamic world acts in unity against the Israeli government.”

“WHAT TÜRKİYE IS DOING FOR PALESTINE IS FAR GREATER THAN WHAT IS COVERED BY THE MEDIA”

“What Türkiye is doing for Palestine, Gaza, and Lebanon is far greater than what is visible, what is being articulated, or what is covered by the media,” said President Erdoğan. “We will stand by our brothers and sisters with all our strength and all our means until the genocide stops and Gaza and Palestine are fully liberated. We have strongly reaffirmed this determined stance of ours during our speech at the Extraordinary Joint Summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the Arab League in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Türkiye’s efforts for the termination of the massacre in Gaza and the delivery of humanitarian aid were mentioned with praise during the meeting in Riyadh.”

President Erdoğan continued his remarks as follows: “We brought up the Israeli barbarity in Gaza as well as the climate crisis during the World Leaders Climate Action Summit in Baku. I also talked about the steps Türkiye takes to fight climate change. I emphasized the importance of the zero waste movement, which turned into a global project shortly after it was launched with my wife Emine Erdoğan’s initiative. We held talks with a large number of heads of state and government during both meetings. I drew attention to the massacres in Gaza and Lebanon during all of these meetings.”

“WE SUPPORT THE BRAVE DECISION TAKEN BY THE INTERNATIONAL CRIMINAL COURT”

President Erdoğan further stressed: “Topping the agenda of our talks during Qatar Emir Sheikh Tamim’s official visit to our country on November 14 were the troubles endured by our brothers and sisters in Gaza and Lebanon, as well as our trade and economic relations. Likewise, during the G20 Summit in Brazil, we explained in detail to our counterparts the Gaza genocide and the threats Israel’s policies of occupation and invasion pose to our country, our region, and to the entire world.”

Expressing his belief that the Palestinian people will ultimately attain prosperity, peace, and serenity after these challenging days, that the oppressors will lose, and that the triumph will belong to the Palestinian cause, President Erdoğan went onto say: “The perpetrators of the genocide will definitely be brought to justice for the blood of innocents they have shed. The arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court for Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and former Minister of Defense Gallant is a very brave step taken in this direction. The circle is tightening around Netanyahu and his murderous network. The execution of this warrant serves as a test of integrity for the countries party to the Rome Statute. In this regard, we find it praiseworthy that the majority of the countries obligated to execute the decision have voiced their support. As Türkiye, we support this brave decision taken by the International Criminal Court.”
