President Erdoğan meets with President Trump of the U.S.

Answering reporters’ questions prior to his meeting with President Trump of the U.S. at the Oval Office, President Erdoğan, in response to a question regarding President Trump’s efforts for regional peace and as to whether they will work together to that end, said: “I believe that we will overcome the problems in the region together, hand in hand.”
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan met with President Donald J. Trump of the United States at the White House.
Delivering remarks and answering reporters’ questions prior to the meeting, President Erdoğan voiced his pleasure over carrying out this visit during a period that coincides with the United Nations General Assembly.
President Erdoğan said: “Just as we did during Mr. Trump’s first term, we are going through a very distinct period in the Türkiye-U.S. relations in his second term as well. I think that we will find opportunity to thoroughly discuss the issues of F-35s, F-16s and our relations regarding Halkbank. We are already ready to do what falls to us regarding the Heybeliada school. I will have the chance to discuss this with Mr. Bartholomew once I return.”
In response to a question regarding his previous statements that President Trump makes efforts for peace and as to whether they will work together to that end in the future, President Erdoğan said: “I say all this because I believe so. I believe that we will overcome the problems in the region together, hand in hand.”
