President Erdoğan published a video message on the occasion of Eid al-Adha
In a message on Eid al-Adha, President Erdoğan said: “The more tightly we embrace each other as the nation, the more easily we deal with problems and the more successfully we wage our struggle. Our spirit of brotherhood and our consciousness of assistance and solidarity, which we rejuvenate on the occasion of eids, are particularly important in this respect.”
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan issued the following message on Eid al-Adha:
“I pray to Allah that these sacred days may lead to auspicious developments for our nation, the Islamic world and the entire humanity. May Allah Almighty accept and glorify your sacrifices and prayers.
I wish our nation and all Muslims may reach many more eids in health, peace and joy. In particular, I wholeheartedly congratulate my brothers and sisters in Gaza who are observing the eid under the oppression of the genocidal Israel, and wish that our brothers and sisters, who suffer atrocities and massacres on a daily basis, may find peace and reach an atmosphere of security and stability without delay.
“WE ARE GOING THROUGH DAYS WHEN WE NEED SOLIDARITY MORE THAN EVER”
Eids are unique days when the feelings of unity, solidarity and brotherhood are experienced most strongly. Eids are special days when orphans and the poor are remembered, the ties of kinship and neighborhood are strengthened, and we as a nation hold onto one another more tightly.
The coronavirus pandemic unfortunately caused some ruptures in our ties of neighborhood, kinship and friendship. Eids help us remedy these ruptures and come together with our relatives more often. ‘Out of sight, out of mind,’ our ancestors said. As the nation, we are going through days when we need unity of heart and solidarity more than ever.
We are pleased to observe that the climate of reconciliation emerging in politics helps our nation band together again. I am confident that we will come together heart to heart and will inshallah turn this eid into a true feast of brotherhood.
“OUR ECONOMIC PROGRAMME BEARS FRUITS IN TERMS OF PRODUCTION, EMPLOYMENT AND EXPORTS”
We had three consecutive elections last year. Our democracy emerged stronger from all these elections. Now we as the government have a four-year period of action ahead of us.
High inflation continues to cause concern in the world. Yet, we have entered a process of getting rid of the inflation monster that eats into our food, sustenance and bread. Our economic programme bears fruits in terms of production, employment and exports. In inflation, we will inshallah have more pleasing outcomes in the second half of the year.
As the government, we have raised the welfare of our nation --from farmers to civil servants, white-collar employees to workers-- to the level of developed countries. We will fore sure reduce inflation, triggered by such factors as the pandemic, wars, and global crises, to single digits, as we did in the past.
It is out of the question for us to compromise the historic achievements we have had in the fight against terror. We will continue our operations until we put an end to the scourge of separatist terror that has been draining our nation’s blood and resources for 40 years.
“WE HAVE DELIVERED OVER 55 THOUSAND TONS OF HUMANITARIAN AID TO GAZA”
We maintain our firm stance against the policy of genocide Israel has been conducting in Gaza and occupied Palestinian lands since October 7. We have delivered over 55 thousand tons of humanitarian aid to Gaza. We have halted all trade with Israel. We have decided to join the genocide case at the International Court of Justice.
We are among the countries working the hardest for the recognition of the Palestinian state. Despite all the pressure of the Zionist network, we defend justice and peace at every platform and never refrain from shouting out the truth. Despite all the barbarity of baby-killer Israel and its collaborators, the Palestinian people will inshallah be victorious.
“OUR BIGGEST SOURCE OF STRENGTH IS OUR NATION’S UNITY”
In this difficult struggle, our biggest source of strength and inspiration is our nation’s prayers, support, unity, solidarity and brotherhood. The more tightly we embrace each other as the nation, the more easily we deal with problems and the more successfully we wage our struggle. Our spirit of brotherhood and our consciousness of assistance and solidarity, which we rejuvenate on the occasion of eids, are particularly important in this respect.
During this eid, too, we will kiss our elders in the hand and our juniors in the eye, knock on the door of our relatives and friends, make up with those we are estranged from, and will inshallah further strengthen our eternal brotherhood.
With these thoughts, I pray for Allah to acknowledge the worship of our brothers and sisters who are now on holy lands to fulfill their pilgrimage, and to accept their prayers at Kaaba, Arafat and Muzdalifah.
As always in eids, I advise the drivers that will hit the roads to obey traffic rules, to never set out tired, and to particularly increase their attention as they approach their destination. I wish the Eid al-Adha may bring serenity to our hearts, welfare to our country, and peace to our kindred geography, Palestine and Sudan in particular. Eid Mubarak.”
