President Erdoğan published a video message on the occasion of the New Year
In a message he issued for the new year, President Erdoğan said: “We will take determined steps in the upcoming period to realize our vision of a terror-free Türkiye and a terror-free region. We are making every effort in order for this process, which will open up a new path before our country, to proceed peacefully through mutual goodwill and understanding. And yet, we will not hesitate to deploy our state’s iron fist in velvet glove when need be.”
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan issued a new year message:
“My august nation, I greet you all with love from the bottom of my heart. Today we are seeing off 2024 and welcoming 2025 with new hopes, expectations and dreams. First of all, I pray to my Lord in order for the new Gregorian year to lead to auspicious outcomes for our country, nation, geography dear to us and the entire humanity.
I remember with grace all our martyrs who have lost their lives for our independence and future over the past year, and extend my gratitude to our ghazis. We as the nation will inshallah further strengthen our unity and solidarity, and close ranks in 2025.
We have witnessed many critical developments both in our country and the region in 2024, which we are leaving behind. Thanks be to Allah, we successfully held the local elections in an atmosphere of an absolute democracy festival and in a climate whereby we once again showed the maturity of the Turkish democracy to the entire world.
While our nation’s will was manifested freely in the polls, the winner was once again our democracy as well as all of our 85 million citizens. Today, I once again thank my citizens, who turned the polls into a festival place, no matter what their votes were.
“WE HAVE STARTED TO REAP THE FRUITS OF OUR ECONOMIC PROGRAMME”
We have started to reap the fruits of our economic programme we have been carrying out determinedly despite the elections and new crises that have erupted in our region. We have achieved very significant successes in employment, exports, production, tourism, defense industry and other areas.
We have made remarkable progress in our works to revive our quake-hit region. These efforts will accelerate in the new year.
That the decline in inflation has increasingly continued especially in the last months of the year affirms that we will reach our 2025 targets. We will inshallah make further progress by focusing on policies that will compensate for our citizens’ welfare loss and increase their purchasing power.
“WE WILL REACH OUR GOALS”
We will determinedly maintain our fight against profiteers, who have set their eyes on our nation’s bread through excessive prices, particularly in housing, rents and food, in 2025 as well.
I especially ask my citizens to not give credit to populist rhetoric, which in the past made Türkiye pay high prices.
Just as it has been us who have solved all the problems of this country and nation in the past 22 years, it will be us, too, who will overcome the current challenges in economy. We are on the right path, and we will reach our goals with Allah’s permission. We just ask you to show a little more patience, fortitude and understanding.
“WE WILL PROVIDE ALL THE NECESSARY SUPPORT TO LASTING PEACE, CALM, STABILITY AND ECONOMIC PROSPERITY IN SYRIA”
My august nation, the last weeks of 2024 have been the sparkles of a new era in Syria, with which we have historical, social and neighborly relations. We will provide all the necessary support in order for the new period to open a door to lasting peace, calm, stability and economic prosperity in Syria.
I believe that as the environment of stability in Syria takes hold, the voluntary return of Syrian refugees, who have been homesick for 13 years, will be eased. May Allah bless all my citizens who have displayed the best examples of being a benevolent nation during this period.
“WE ARE THE ONLY COUNTRY THAT HAS RESPONDED IN THE STRONGEST MANNER TO THE MASSACRES IN GAZA”
We are the only country that has responded in the strongest manner to the massacres in Gaza and that has displayed its conscientious and just stance on every platform since the very first day. We are exerting intensive efforts in order for the massacres, which have been ongoing for 15 months in the Palestinian territories to end, and in order for peace to be established there.
We will work with all our strength in 2025 as well in order for a free, sovereign and geographically integrated Palestinian state within the 1967 borders, with East al-Quds as its capital, to be established.
“WE HOPE THAT A NEW PERIOD MAY START IN OUR NORTH IN 2025”
The termination of the war between Russia and Ukraine, both of which are our neighbors in the Black Sea, with a just peace remains to be a priority for us. We hope that a new period may start in our north in 2025.
While we are implementing all these diplomatic moves beyond our borders, our most important agenda at home will be the consolidation of our domestic front.
“WE ARE DETERMINED TO MAKE THE CENTURY OF TÜRKİYE THE CENTURY OF BROTHERHOOD”
We are determined to make the Century of Türkiye the century of brotherhood as well. We will take determined steps in the upcoming period to realize our vision of a terror-free Türkiye and a terror-free region. We are making every effort in order for this process, which will open up a new path before our country, to proceed peacefully through mutual goodwill and understanding. And yet, we will not hesitate to deploy our state’s iron fist in velvet glove when need be.
In this regard, we inshallah hope and want to give new good news to our nation in 2025. May my Lord help and guide us.
May my Lord not make us feel embarrassed before our august nation, which we are proud of being a servant of, and before hundreds of millions of oppressed people who have laid their hopes on Türkiye. With these wishes, I hope that the new calendar year will lead to auspicious outcomes for our country, nation and the entire humanity, and greet each and every one of you with respect.
