President Erdoğan sends video message to International Humanitarian Aid Summit on the “Future of Gaza”

President Erdoğan said: "We persist in our diplomatic talks to ensure that Islamic countries respond collectively to the oppression in Gaza and to urge joint action. We will continue our struggle until the occupation and atrocities in Palestine cease and until an independent and sovereign Palestinian State with East Jerusalem (al-Quds) as its capital and territorial integrity based on the 1967 borders is established.

Beginning his video address to the International Humanitarian Aid Summit on the "Future of Gaza," hosted by the Al-Khair Foundation (AKF) and Türkiye Diyanet Foundation, by reciting bismillah, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan conveyed his wish for the summit to be successful and yield auspicious results to the oppressed, particularly the Gazans, and the Islamic world as a whole.

President Erdoğan offered a warm welcome to guests from across the Islamic world who were in attendance for the summit and congratulated the AKF and Türkiye Diyanet Foundation members for spearheading this event geared towards the future, reconstruction, and development of Gaza.

Remarking that they have observed once again how important it is for Islamic countries to act together and join forces in the context of the massacres that have taken place in Gaza and the occupied Palestinian territories since October 7, 2023, President Erdoğan noted, "Nearly 50 thousand of our Palestinian brothers and sisters, most of them children and women, were martyred as the whole world watched. As a result of Israeli bombardments that directly targeted civilians, more than 100 thousand innocent Palestinian people were wounded."

Stating that the number of deaths in the attacks on Lebanon is now more than 3,500, President Erdoğan said, "Places of worship, schools, hospitals, and all civilian infrastructure were the targets of Israeli attacks. As Türkiye, we stand in full solidarity with our Palestinian brothers and sisters in the face of these attacks. Over the last year, we have tried to reach out to our brothers and sisters in Gaza and Lebanon. We are among the countries that have contributed the most aid to Palestine, having dispatched over 86 thousand tonnes."

"We will continue our struggle until the massacre in Palestine ends"

Remarking that the amount of aid delivered to Lebanon exceeded 1300 tonnes, President Erdoğan said:

"We persist in our diplomatic talks to ensure that Islamic countries respond collectively to the oppression in Gaza and to urge joint action. We will continue our struggle until the occupation and atrocities in Palestine cease and until an independent and sovereign Palestinian State with East Jerusalem (al-Quds) as its capital and territorial integrity based on the 1967 borders is established. I believe that the international humanitarian summit will help us in this struggle. I would like to thank once again all the participants of the summit and offer all our guests my warmest regards."
