“The only step that can stop Israel’s state terrorism is the alliance of Islamic countries”
Speaking at the 21st Imam Hatip Alumni Congress, President Erdoğan said: “All the Islamic countries must take a united stance against Israel’s occupation, whose end point is unclear. The only step that can stop Israel’s arrogance, banditry and state terrorism is the alliance of Islamic countries.”
Drawing attention to the ongoing genocide in Gaza, President Erdoğan stated that Zionists’ occupation in Palestinian lands has continued inch by inch so far since the Ottoman State’s withdrawal in 1918.
Stressing that the Palestinians have been squeezed into tiny pieces of lands in Ramallah and Gaza, President Erdoğan said: “Now, Israel aims to occupy West Bank and Gaza, too, by committing genocide in these areas. Yesterday, they heinously murdered our young child, Ayşenur Ezgi Eygi. To date, they have killed over 40,000 innocent civilians, including 17,000 children. They attack barbarically and shed blood indiscriminately, whether it be children, women, youth, or the elderly.”
Underscoring that there is not an Israel-Palestine war in Gaza but a struggle between the expansionist Zionism and the Muslims defending their homeland, President Erdoğan stated: “Both some in our country and some of the Islamic countries view this issue as irrelevant to themselves, yet they are gravely mistaken. As I have said previously, Israel will not stop in Gaza. If Israel continues this way, it will set its sights on other places after occupying Ramallah, too. Next, the turn comes for other countries in the region, for Lebanon, for Syria. They will set their sights on our lands between the Tigris and the Euphrates. They express this openly with every map they pose in front of. They are already declaring that they will not stop with the occupation of Gaza alone. That is why we say, ‘Hamas is resisting for Muslims.’ That is why we say, ‘Hamas is defending not only Gaza but also Islamic lands and Türkiye.’”

“Standing against Israel's state terror is an Islamic, religious duty for us, a patriotic issue. Of course, it is a national issue,” stressed President Erdoğan. “During such a critical period, Islamic countries must immediately wake up, see the danger, and expand their cooperation. The recent steps we have taken with Egypt and Syria are aimed at forming a line of solidarity against the growing threat of expansionism. All the Islamic countries must take a united stance against Israel’s occupation, whose end point is unclear. We have been making this call since the very beginning. The only step that can stop Israel’s arrogance, banditry and state terrorism is the alliance of Islamic countries. The new process we have started with Egypt will be for the benefit of Gaza and Palestine. The talks we have been carrying out with the neighboring countries will be for the benefit of the region. Regardless of what the miserable among us say, we will continue to increase the number of our friends. We will continue to take every step with determination by expanding Türkiye’s maneuverability in foreign policy.”
