Speaking at AK Party’s 8th Ordinary Provincial Congress in Balıkesir, President Erdoğan said: “The projects we have implemented in our country, the services we have provided for our people, and the marks we have left in history are incomparably greater than those of the previous 80 years.”
President and Justice and Development (AK) Party Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan delivered a speech at the party’s 8th ordinary provincial congress in Balıkesir.

Noting that 102nd anniversary of the proclamation of the Republic of Türkiye will be marked in 2025, which will start in the coming week, President Erdoğan said: “Thank Allah, AK Party and the cadres standing right before me at the moment have had the honor of serving our nation during the last 22 years of our 102-year-old Republic. The projects we have implemented in our country, the services we have provided for our people, and the marks we have left in history during this period are incomparably greater than those of the previous 80 years.”

President Erdoğan, commenting on the recent developments in Syria, stated that 13 years of humanitarian crisis and 61 years of Baathist oppression in Syria came to an end with the successful revolution carried out by the Syrian people a few weeks ago, and added that Türkiye not only hosted 3.6 million refugees during the humanitarian crisis in Syria but also provided security to 4 million additional people beyond its southern borders.

Drawing attention to Türkiye’s goals related to the Century of Türkiye, President Erdoğan said: “We are determined to make the best of 2025 by getting our country closer to its goals for the Century of Türkiye in every area by getting rid of our acute problems that threaten our national unity and solidarity, particularly the terror issue, by restoring security and stability beyond our southern borders and eliminating threats originating from there, by contributing to the termination of the war to our north, by ensuring the success of our economic program, and by making strides in areas such as defense industry, advanced technology, artificial intelligence, and energy resources that would end our foreign dependency.”
PRESIDENT ERDOĞAN VISITS FAMILIES OF THOSE KILLED IN AMMUNITION FACTORY EXPLOSION
Ahead of the provincial congress, President Erdoğan paid a visit to the families of Muhammet Ergin, Enes Kırmızı and Özlem Özçakır, who lost their lives in an explosion that took place at an ammunition factory in the central Karesi district of Balıkesir.
Following the congress, President Erdoğan visited the children receiving treatment at Balıkesir Atatürk City Hospital for the injuries they sustained in a traffic accident in which a school bus was also involved.
