“Türkiye and Spain will continue to work together for the resolution of the Israel-Palestine conflict”
Speaking at a joint press conference with President Sánchez of the Government of Spain, President Erdoğan said: “We, as Türkiye and Spain, will continue to work together for the resolution of the Israel-Palestine conflict.”
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who is in Madrid for the 8th Türkiye-Spain Intergovernmental Summit, spoke a joint press conference with President Pedro Sánchez of the Government of Spain following their bilateral meeting, the meeting between the delegations and the signing ceremony of the agreements.
Drawing attention to the importance of Spain’s decision to recognize Palestine, President Erdoğan said: “We sincerely hope that Spain’s this attitude will set an example to other countries that have yet to recognize Palestine.”
Stressing that Türkiye and Spain will continue to work together for the resolution of the Israel-Palestine conflict, President Erdoğan noted that they will follow the implementation process of the UNSC resolution for an immediate, full and complete ceasefire in Gaza.
Underscoring that the members of the Security Council, the US in particular, should stand behind this resolution and put necessary pressure on Israel to ensure immediate ceasefire, President Erdoğan voiced his hope that Israel stops its attacks and pursue a track that will lead to a lasting peace in the region.
