“We cannot leave our children alone in digital platforms’ uncontrolled climate”

Speaking at the opening ceremony of Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Educational Complex in Istanbul, President Erdoğan said: “We cannot leave our children alone and unattended in digital platforms’ uncontrolled and disorderly climate that is full of threats. We will implement new measures in combatting problems emanating from digital game and sharing platforms in 2025, the Year of the Family.”
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made a speech at the opening ceremony of Esenyurt Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Educational Complex in Istanbul.
Stating that it is essential in terms of Türkiye’s independence and future that next generations, the assurance of the future of the country, receive a qualified education, President Erdoğan noted: “The education of young generations, who comprehend the time, place and conditions they are living in with all their aspects, use their means and capabilities in the best manner, and will, thus, shape the future with their experiences, is our fundamental priority.”

Drawing attention to digital and screen addiction which spread like a plague among the society, President Erdoğan said: “We cannot leave our children alone and unattended in digital platforms’ uncontrolled and disorderly climate that is full of threats. No matter who says what, we cannot remain to be a mere onlooker to the invasion of young minds under the pretext of freedom. We will implement new measures in combatting problems emanating from digital game and sharing platforms in 2025, the Year of the Family.”
“TÜRKİYE HAS INCREASED ITS SHORT- AND LONG-TERM EDUCATION PERFORMANCE”
Also touching upon the investments made in education, President Erdoğan said that they have started to reap the fruits of these investments in a short span of time, and added: “According to the PISA report published in December 2023, Türkiye has been one of the four countries that have steadily increased their performances in the areas of mathematics and sciences in the past 20 years. Also, TIMSS 2023 announced in December 2024 revealed that Türkiye has increased its short- and long-term education performance to a great extent. The results, at the level of fourth and eighth grades in particular, in this report show that Türkiye’s success rate has an upward trend.”
