“We work selflessly to render all our 81 provinces resilient against earthquakes”

 

Addressing AK Party’s parliamentary group meeting, President Erdoğan said: “We are working selflessly to render all our 81 provinces, notably Istanbul, secure and resilient against earthquakes. To that end, we have built 1.547 million houses through TOKİ in the past 23 years. We have constructed a total of 3.7 million transformation houses and social housing units. We have provided our 15 million citizens with new homes.”

President and Justice and Development (AK) Party Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made a speech at the party’s parliamentary group meeting.

“OUR OBJECTION IS TO WEST’S DOUBLE STANDARDS AND HYPOCRISY”

Stating that they are closely following the hot conflicts, escalating tensions and insidious games from the north to the south, President Erdoğan noted: “Every incident and massacre that has recently taken place in different parts of the world, Gaza in particular, has once again reminded the truth that the so-called values imposed by the West on the entire world especially after the Second World War are nothing but an illusion, a deception. Those, who have made the whole humanity fall for this illusion for the sake of their security and prosperity, are now surprised at the revelation of their true colors. In fact, we do not have any problem with or any objection to the essence of such notions as the supremacy of national will, law, justice, freedom that the West has been exploiting. On the contrary, we see these notions as legacies we have inherited from our own civilization, and protect them. Our objection is to the double standards, hypocrisy and fake smiles the West displays everyone that it does not see as one of them, especially towards Türkiye.”

“TÜRKİYE IS RISING AS AN ISLAND OF SECURITY AND PEACE”

“Despite everything, Türkiye is rising as an island of security, peace and hope at the heart of the world’s most instable region. No one should overlook this great achievement amid the complexity of daily challenges. Today, we do not remain indifferent to any matter that directly or indirectly concerns our country, and we steer the developments with delicate touches. While doing this, we place Türkiye’s security, our nation’s peace and the fulfillment of our citizens’ needs and expectations at the first place,” President Erdoğan added.

Underscoring that they endeavor to not save the day, but to build the future of Türkiye, President Erdoğan said: “We manage with such a projection the terror-free Türkiye project, which we have been carrying out with great patience, as well as the developments in Syria, the increasingly escalating tensions in the Mediterranean and the sensitivities in economy.”

“WE HAVE PROVIDED OUR 15 MILLION CITIZENS WITH NEW HOMES”

Further stressing that they act in the same manner regarding all matters, the earthquake issue in particular, concerning the citizens, President Erdoğan reminded the recent 6.2-magnitude earthquake in Istanbul, and said: “We are working selflessly to render all our 81 provinces, notably Istanbul, secure and resilient against earthquakes. To that end, we have built 1.547 million houses through TOKİ in the past 23 years. We have constructed a total of 3.7 million transformation houses and social housing units. We have provided our 15 million citizens with new homes. The transformation of nearly 1 million houses still continues.”
