Speaking at a commemoration for Atatürk, President Erdoğan said: “No matter for what purposes, any word, any attitude, or any act aimed at disrupting this nation’s unity and solidarity is a direct betrayal to Ghazi Mustafa Kemal’s legacy.”
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan delivered a speech at a commemoration ceremony held by Atatürk Supreme Council for Culture, Language and History on the 86th anniversary of Ghazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk’s passing to eternity.
“OUR COMMON GOAL IS TO ELEVATE OUR COUNTRY ABOVE THE LEVEL OF CONTEMPORARY CIVILIZATIONS”
President Erdoğan said: “I thank all our citizens who endeavor to make our Republic, which has left behind its first century and entered the Century of Türkiye, be successful in every area. As Ghazi Mustafa Kemal, the Commander-in-Chief of the national struggle, stated, our common goal is to elevate our country above the level of contemporary civilizations. No matter for what purposes, any word, any attitude, or any act aimed at disrupting this nation’s unity and solidarity is a direct betrayal to Ghazi Mustafa Kemal’s legacy. We are well aware of the motives that lie behind the wicked stances, whose traces we come across on a wide front, from ideological separatism to economic hitmanship.”
“WE WILL COMPLETE THE MISSING LINKS OF THE SAFE ZONE”
Touching upon Türkiye’s fight against terror, President Erdoğan noted: “With the operations we have carried out and the safe zones we have set up, we have thwarted to a significant extent the attempts to surround our country from its southern borders. We will inshallah complete the missing links of the safe zone we have set up along our borders in the period ahead. In other words, we will completely cut the connection between terrorist organizations and our borders. Thus, we will have foiled the 40-year-old game of the imperialists, which steer the political and economic roadmap of our country as they see fit, and their puppets in our region for good and all.”
President Erdoğan added that while they maintain in a multilayered manner the operations aimed at eliminating the separatist terrorist organization from being a source of threat to Türkiye, they will use the tools, means and opportunities in their hands to the end.
“WE WILL NOT WAIT FOR THE DESTRUCTION TO TURN UP AT OUR BORDERS”
Further stressing that they will resolvedly march towards their goal of making the next century the Century of Türkiye, President Erdoğan underscored that they are determined to not repeat the past mistakes or not miss the opportunities in this period, during which the political, economic and security paradigms that shape the world are restructured, and said: “We will not wait for the destruction, which wreaks havoc in our region, to turn up at our borders and start burning us as well. We say, ‘Let us all together face and fight the threat before us and leave a great and strong Türkiye to next generations’. Otherwise, it is inevitable that a climate, which we will go through for another century by fearing and consuming each other, will take us hostage. I believe that none of us will consent to such a future. The global, particularly the regional situation must be a warning for all of us in order for history to not repeat itself. To that end, each and every one of us, first and foremost the political establishment, is responsible for fulfilling the duty that falls to us.”
