“The biggest factor behind Türkiye’s historic success in the past 23 years is the environment of stability and confidence in our politics and society”

 

Speaking at an event marking the 50th foundation anniversary of HAK-IS Confederation, President Erdoğan said: “The biggest factor behind the historic success Türkiye has achieved in the past 23 years is the environment of stability and confidence that prevails in our politics and society. We have together seen what our country can accomplish in a short span of time when short-lived governments are replaced with competent and sagacious cadres.”

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made a speech at an event held in Ankara for the 50th foundation anniversary of HAK-IS Trade Union Confederation. 

President Erdoğan said: “The biggest factor behind the historic success Türkiye has achieved in the past 23 years is the environment of stability and confidence that prevails in our politics and society. We have together seen what our country can accomplish in a short span of time when short-lived governments are replaced with competent and sagacious cadres.”

Drawing attention to the annual average growth rate of 5.4 per cent in economy in the past 23 years, President Erdoğan noted: “We increased our national income, which was 238 billion dollars in 2002, to the level of 1.5 trillion dollars in 2024. Our national income per capita, which was 3,608 dollars, increased to 14,751 dollars in 2024. It neared 17 thousand dollars during the second quarter of 2025. Our Central Bank reserves, which were 27 billion dollars, are now at the level of 185 billion dollars. Our exports, which were 36 billion dollars, have today exceeded 270 billion dollars.”
