“The Great Victory is the name of the rebirth of a nation from its ashes”

 

Speaking at the Victory Day Concert, President Erdoğan said: “The Great Victory is the name of the rebirth from its ashes of a nation sought to be eradicated and expelled from its homeland.”

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan delivered a speech at the Victory Day Concert at the Presidential Complex.

Noting that Türkiye is experiencing the joy of marking the 102^nd anniversary of the Great Victory today, President Erdoğan said: “Let me underline that our War of Independence is without doubt a unique victory in the world. Mobilizing whatever it had at its disposal, our nation defended its independence and future despite all the deprivations. The Turkish Nation thus once again demonstrated its feature of being a nation that makes and writes history. The turning point of our War of Independence was the Great Offensive and the Battle of the Commander-in-Chief.”

Describing the Great Victory as the name of the rebirth from its ashes of a nation sought to be eradicated and expelled from its homeland, President Erdoğan stated: “Our army, which had been on the defensive and whose offensive power had been on the decline since the Siege of Vienna, altered its ill fate with the victory it won in Dumlupınar. Thus, the retreat, which had lasted for 250 years save a few exceptions, came to an end. This victory, won despite numerous hardships, consolidated both our nation’s independence and Turkish soldiers’ heroism.”

Drawing attention to the steps taken with resolve towards the ideal of a fully-independent Türkiye, President Erdoğan said: “We are now focused on our goals as the nation. With the courage and inspiration we draw from the Great Victory, we are working with all our strength to carry our country to a more prosperous and brighter future. The achievements we have made in defense industry over the past 22 years instill confidence in our friends while instilling fear in those with hostile eyes.”
