“We are sincere about and open to discussion for a new constitution”
Delivering the closing speech of the AK Party’s 31st Consultation and Assessment Meeting, President Erdoğan said: “We are sincere about and open to discussion for a new constitution. And we do not approve of this issue being turned into a political arm wrestling. Let us all together sit, talk, join forces and free Türkiye of the shame of the post-coup constitution with the broadest consensus.”
President and Justice and Development (AK) Party Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made a speech at the closing of the party’s 31st Consultation and Assessment Meeting in Ankara.
Stating that a new and civilian constitution will be a locomotive for the future of Türkiye, President Erdoğan said: “We are sincere about and open to discussion for a new constitution. And we do not approve of this issue being turned into a political arm wrestling. Let us all together sit, talk, join forces and free Türkiye of the shame of the post-coup constitution with the broadest consensus.”
