“We will keep our country away from the repercussions of regional crises”

 

Speaking after the Presidential Cabinet Meeting, President Erdoğan said: “Our country, which is entrusted to us by the 86 million, is safe in competent and confident hands. With Allah’s permission, no one will be able to prevent the construction of the Century of Türkiye. Just as we have honorably overcome many challenges so far, we will inshallah keep our country away from the repercussions of the crises in our region as well.”

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held a press conference following the Presidential Cabinet Meeting at the Presidential Complex.

“DEBATES ON IRAN’S NUCLEAR PROGRAMME SHOULD TAKE PLACE AT NEGOTIATION TABLE”

Drawing attention to the recent ongoing serious conflicts and wars in the region, President Erdoğan said: “The Russia-Ukraine war is continuing with grave consequences that wear out both sides. The tension between Pakistan and India, although it has not lasted long in terms of conflicts, still poses a potential threat due to the power the parties have. The genocide Israel has been perpetrating in Gaza before the eyes of the entire world, and the reckless acts it has been carrying out in Lebanon and Syria make our hearts bleed. This very Israel has now launched an attack on our neighbor Iran. It is clearly understood each passing day that the attack, which has launched under the pretext of targeting Iran’s nuclear facilities, has in fact more comprehensive and insidious purposes. We have advocated since the very beginning that the debates on Iran’s nuclear programme should take place at negotiation table.”

“SOLUTION OF THE PROBLEM IS POSSIBLE ONLY THROUGH DIPLOMACY AND DIALOGUE”

Reminding the recent phone calls he has held with world leaders, President Erdoğan noted: “We have underlined the threats and dangers Israel’s aggression, which has already reached banditry, poses for our entire region. We have stated that the solution of the problem is possible only through diplomacy and dialogue. We have openly conveyed to our counterparts that we as Türkiye stand ready to do whatever falls to our part, including acting as a facilitator. It is very important in the first place that no one can estimate what seeking to resolve the matters, which could be settled at the table, through arms, destruction, blood, chaos, or bombing everything, be it military or civilian, will bring in the future. History is full of the examples of the unexpected outcomes of these spoilt acts.”

“EVERY INCIDENT IN THE REGION CLOSELY CONCERNS AND AFFECTS ALL SOCIETIES”

“Israel, which is attacking Iran, razing Gaza to the ground, and bullying all the countries in the region with the West’s unlimited support, is in fact not aware of what it is doing. It will probably realize its mistake in the future, but it will be too late then. No one should ever forget that no country in this ancient geography is made up of its own borders and administrations. Due to the thousand-years-long deep-rooted relations, every incident in the region closely concerns and affects all societies, and has middle- and long-term consequences,” President Erdoğan added.

“ISRAEL, WITH EVERY BLOOD IT SHEDS, RISKS ITS OWN EXISTENCE”

President Erdoğan continued as follows: “As a matter of fact, attacking Palestinian people and territories is not an incident limited to only a few million people there. Likewise, attacking Iranian territories and people is not an incident that only concerns the Iranian state. We can make same evaluations for Pakistan, Afghanistan, Turkic states and North Africa region. Especially, when the issue is Türkiye, we can talk about a power of influence beyond continents. Every step that is taken ignoring these facts in our region will invite other tragedies in the future. And these tragedies usually end with the elimination of oppressors. Therefore, Israel, with every oppression it carries out, every blood it sheds and every crime against humanity it commits gradually risks its own existence and the future of its nation.”

“TÜRKİYE AND THE TURKISH NATION EXERT SINCERE EFFORTS TO EMBRACE THE ENTIRE HUMANITY”

Pointing out that Türkiye and the Turkish nation exert sincere efforts to embrace its own citizens first, then brotherly and friendly societies, and finally the entire humanity within the framework of the principles of morals, conscience, justice and equity they have drawn from their civilizational legacy, President Erdoğan said: “We are embodying our efforts sometimes through our relief works, sometimes through our diplomatic supports, sometimes through our commercial and technological partnerships, and sometimes through our social and cultural ties. Recently, we all have followed the outcome of this approach in the Balkans, Karabakh, Libya and Syria. We will inshallah not only glorify the unity, solidarity and brotherhood among us, but also will maintain our initiatives that will make the same climate prevail in our region.”

“NO ONE WILL BE ABLE TO PREVENT THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE CENTURY OF TÜRKİYE”

Further stressing that Türkiye analyses all the incidents with its statecraft and deep-rooted experiences, and assesses them in a commonsensical and restrained manner, President Erdoğan said: “Our country, which is entrusted to us by the 86 million, is safe in competent and confident hands.
