“We will not allow those who try to divide us over our differences”
Speaking at the 953rd anniversary commemoration of the Victory of Manzikert, President Erdoğan said: “We have not and will not allow those, who try to divide us over our differences, and the circles of discord, who try to sow seeds of friction among us.”
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan delivered a speech at the 953rd anniversary commemoration of the Victory of Manzikert at Malazgirt National Park.
“In these lands where the gates of Anatolia were opened completely, never to be closed again, we are elated to reach the 953rd anniversary of the Victory of Manzikert. Today, as 85 million people, we celebrate the anniversary of the glorious victory with pride, gratitude and excitement that remains undiminished for 953 years,” President Erdoğan said.
“I remember with grace and gratitude Sultan Alp Arslan and his soldiers,” President Erdoğan said. “Allah granted Sultan Alp Arslan and his army a magnificent victory on August 26, 1071 against an enemy four times larger than themselves. Only 4 years after the victory, we established our first state in these lands, the Anatolian Seljuk State in Iznik. We have been keeping Anatolia as our homeland for nearly a thousand years.”
“Manzikert is not only a victory but also the beginning of a movement of development and revival that gave birth to a homeland and civilization,” President Erdoğan said. “We proclaimed to the whole world that Anatolia is the eternal and everlasting Turkish homeland. The most critical step in the process leading to the conquest of Istanbul was taken at Manzikert. The Manzikert Victory was also a strategic turning point that paved the way for the conquest of Al-Quds. It should be underscored here that Manzikert is the victory of the Turks as well as all Muslims.”
“TIMES MAY HAVE CHANGED BUT OUR SPIRIT REMAINS THE SAME”
“Times may have changed, but our spirit remains the same,” President Erdoğan said. “We march toward the Century of Türkiye.”
“We have not and will not allow those, who try to divide us over our differences, and the circles of discord, who try to sow seeds of friction among us. May our Lord make our affection and brotherhood permanent! On the 953rd anniversary of the Victory of Manzikert, I commemorate with mercy and gratitude our ancestors who made these lands our homeland,” President Erdoğan said.
