“We will promote agricultural zones and integrate them with logistics centers”

Addressing the 4th Agriculture and Forestry Council, President Erdoğan said: “We are planning to transition to the produce-based clustering model in agricultural industry. We will promote agricultural zones and integrate them with logistics centers.”
Extending his greetings to farmers making a living out of soil, President Erdoğan offered them his best wishes on World Farmers' Day.
Noting that new ones are added to the challenges that erupt daily on a global scale, President Erdoğan said: “This new era faces us with brand new problems from pandemics that plague the whole world to the climate change, from the rise of protectionist policies to wars and conflicts. All countries, regardless of their geographical location or their level of development, confront these problems one way or another. The fight waged for underground resources in the previous century is now being put up for the control of agricultural zones and water resources.”
“WE DETERMINE AND EXECUTE OUR WATER AND AGRICULTURE POLICIES WITH GREAT DILIGENCE”
President Erdoğan stated: “As a country located in the Mediterranean basin, we have started to feel more the impacts of the climate crisis. In this era, defined as the ‘new normal’, soil, water, agriculture and husbandry grow increasingly more important to us. At this stage, ensuring our nation’s food safety has become a matter of national security for our country. In the light of this reality, we determine and execute our water, agriculture and husbandry policies with great diligence. Accordingly, we have successfully implemented a revolutionary production planning. We decide for ourselves which produces, notably the strategic ones, will be sown where and at which quantity. We have also put into action a new subsidy model in keeping with our production planning. Our farmers, knowing in advance how much subsidy they will receive for which produces, shape their plantation plans accordingly.”
Stressing that Türkiye is planning to transition to the produce-based clustering model in agricultural industry, President Erdoğan added: “We will promote organized agricultural zones and integrate them with logistics centers. Preserving our genetic resources, we will ensure their sustainable utilization and expand their inventory. We will put into use wildfire risk detection and early warning systems to render our forests more resilient against climate change.”
