“With TÜRKSAT 6A, Türkiye has become one of the 11 countries capable of producing its own communications satellite”

Speaking at the commissioning ceremony of TURKSAT 6A, President Erdoğan said: “With TÜRKSAT 6A, which we developed with a domestic production rate of over 80 percent, Türkiye has become one of the 11 countries capable of producing its own communications satellite.”
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan delivered a speech at the commissioning ceremony of TURKSAT 6A in Ankara.
“With the launch of TÜRKSAT 6A, which will provide service for at least 15 years, the number of communication satellites operated by TÜRKSAT increases to 6, and the total number of our satellites in space increases to 10. Our new geosynchronous communications satellite will provide a wide coverage area for emergency communication services, especially television broadcasting,” President Erdoğan said.
“OUR SATELLITES WILL REACH 5 BILLION PEOPLE”
“The production of technologies such as communication satellites without being dependent on foreign sources is of utmost importance to our national security. With TÜRKSAT 6A, which we developed using 84 domestic equipment with a domestic production rate of over 80 percent, Türkiye has become one of the 11 countries capable of producing its own communications satellite,” President Erdoğan said.
“With our indigenous and national communications satellite, the area covered by TÜRKSAT will be further expanded to include India, Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia. The number of people reached by our satellites worldwide will increase from 3.5 billion to 5 billion,” President Erdoğan said.
“TÜRKİYE HAS BECOME ONE OF THE LEADING COUNTRIES IN SPACE STUDIES AND SATELLITE BROADCASTING
Underlining that Türkiye has gained a national and indigenous communications satellite platform through this revolutionary project, President Erdoğan said: “In addition to the main stakeholders, we have established a satellite production ecosystem with subcontractors, enabling many institutions and organizations to contribute to the space industry. With dozens of engineers and personnel taking active roles at all stages, we have trained human resources for satellite and space technologies. With the equipment developed by project stakeholders, we have reached a level of competitiveness on an international scale and further strengthened our export capacity. In addition to carrying out joint work with SpaceX, the launch process was also managed by TÜRKSAT. With a coverage area of more than 60 percent of the world's population, i.e. 5 billion people, we have become one of the leading countries in space studies and satellite broadcasting. With these achievements and activities, we have seized an important opportunity to create our national satellite brand and establish a national space company. We will also benefit from this experience in the realization of future lunar and deep space missions, communication satellites and satellite constellation projects. Inshallah, we will reach our goals by constantly raising the bar.”
“THE WORLD IS ON THE EVE OF A MAJOR TRANSFORMATION”
“When we look at developments worldwide, we see that a historic window of opportunity is opening up for Türkiye. We are very close to attaining the place we rightfully deserve in the global system,” President Erdoğan said. “Today, the world is on the eve of a major transformation. The rules of global trade are changing radically with clarifications of tariffs. Not only the existing crises remain unresolved, but every day we wake up to a new tension. The international system has lost its credibility with the genocide in Gaza. The Western world and its institutions have completely lost their former effectiveness. No one knows where artificial intelligence technologies will lead. In other words, while the old system is rapidly collapsing, no one knows exactly what will replace it. Türkiye’s name is being mentioned more and more on every platform as a regional leader.”
