84th anniversary of Atatürk’s passing to eternity

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan attended the ceremony held at Anıtkabir on the 84th anniversary of the passing of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of the Republic of Turkey.

The ceremony at Anıtkabir (Atatürk’s Mausoleum) began as high-ranking state officials walked on the Lion Road. President Erdoğan and other high-ranking officials laid wreaths at Atatürk’s mausoleum and observed a moment of silence at 09:05 a.m. at Anıtkabir.

After the national anthem was sung, President Erdoğan wrote the following in the Anıtkabir Special Book at Misak-ı Millî Tower:

“August Atatürk, on the 84th anniversary of your passing to eternity, we once again remember with grace Your Excellency, your gallant brother-in-arms, and our august martyrs, who defended our independence at the cost of their lives,

We as the 85 million are preparing the Republic of Türkiye, to which you refer as your greatest work, for the future in a stronger, more prosperous and more prestigious manner with the Century of Türkiye vision.

We will not stop until we make our nation’s century-old dreams come true, we will not give up in the face of the attacks, and we will determinedly maintain our efforts. May you rest in peace.”
