“Healthcare is one of the most beautiful examples of our human-centered politics”
Speaking at the opening ceremony of Medistate Çekmeköy Hospital, President Erdoğan said: “I would like to state with great pride that healthcare is one of the most beautiful examples of our human-centered politics. We have considered healthcare to be a fundamental human right since our first day in office.”
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made a speech at the opening ceremony of Medistate Çekmeköy Hospital in Istanbul.
Stating that Medistate Çekmeköy Hospital will serve Istanbul with 150 patient beds, 16 general and 13 new-born intensive care units, 43 policlinics, a physical therapy and rehabilitation unit, a comprehensive emergency room, four dental clinics and seven operating rooms, President Erdoğan said: “There is also an oncology center, where such critical services as nuclear medicine and nuclear treatment will be provided, in our hospital. I am pleased to hear that the bed capacity of the hospital will increase to 200 with the 50-bed neurosciences center to be built.”

President Erdoğan continued as follows: “We have worked, endeavored, and served the 86 million, excluding no one, with love and with the maxim of, ‘Let the people live so that the state lives,’ in the past 23 years. I would like to state with great pride that healthcare is one of the most beautiful examples of our human-centered politics. We have considered healthcare to be a fundamental human right since our first day in office. We have provided our country with a system where not those who have the money, but those who are in need it access healthcare services. We have elevated the standards of healthcare services for not only a specific circle or a specific region, but for the entire Türkiye.”
“TÜRKİYE HAS GAINED A SIGNIFICANT MOMENTUM IN HEALTH TOURISM”
Underscoring that as a result of all the investments made in the area of healthcare, Istanbul and Türkiye have gained a significant momentum in health tourism, President Erdoğan said: “While our citizens used to go abroad for more qualified diagnoses and treatments in the past, today people from all across the world come to Türkiye. Every year, millions of our guests look for the remedies of their diseases in our country. According to the third quarter data of 2025, the number of people, who visited our country to get healthcare services, reached 1.1 million, and the heath tourism income neared 2.2 million dollars in the first nine months.”
