“In culture and arts, we value anyone who feels a sense of belonging to our nation and country”

 

Speaking at the Presidential Culture and Arts Grand Awards Ceremony, President Erdoğan said: “In culture and arts, just as in every other field, we do not discriminate based on people's worldviews, lifestyles, or political preferences, and value anyone who feels a sense of belonging to our country, nation, and land. We hold in high esteem all artists who, instead of imitating, draw inspiration from their own culture, society, history, and roots.”

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan delivered a speech at the Presidential Culture and Arts Grand Awards Ceremony in Ankara.

“In culture and arts, just as in every other field, we do not discriminate based on people's worldviews, lifestyles, or political preferences, and value anyone who feels a sense of belonging to our country, nation, and land. We hold in high esteem all artists who, instead of imitating, draw inspiration from their own culture, society, history, and roots. Every artist, every scientist, every thinker, who dedicates his or her life to enriching the heritage we have taken over, has a special place in our hearts,” President Erdoğan said.

The 2024 Presidential Culture and Arts Grand Awards were granted to Prof. Gönül Tekin and Prof. Günay Kut in the field of science and culture, Ahmet Özhan in the field of music, Ramazan Minder in the field of librarianship, Turan Oflazoğlu in the field theatre, Salih Balakbabalar in the field of crafts, Fatma Karabıyık Barbarosoğlu in the field of literature, and the Loyalty Award was granted to the late Halit Refiğ.
