“Our aim is to secure permanent increase in the prosperity of the entire 86 million”
Addressing AK Party’s parliamentary group meeting, President Erdoğan said: “Türkiye’s aim, direction and route are evident. This aim is to secure permanent increase in the prosperity of the entire 86 million. This aim is to achieve an economic growth of $1.9 trillion in 2028.”
President and Justice and Development (AK) Party Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan spoke at the party’s group meeting at the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye (GNAT).
“WE HAVE NOT STRAYED FROM OUR GOALS DESPITE THE HOT CONFLICTS IN OUR REGION”
“Our economy has sustained its uninterrupted growth trend for 21 consecutive quarters, including the third quarter of 2025. Türkiye’s economy grew by 3.7 percent year-on-year in the third quarter, maintaining its stable course. With this rate, we ranked 4th among OECD countries, 5th among G20 countries,” President Erdoğan said. “Türkiye’s aim, direction and route are evident. This aim is to secure permanent increase in the prosperity of the entire 86 million. This aim is to achieve an economic growth of $1.9 trillion by 2028. This am is to boost our goods exports to $375 billion over the next three years. This aim is to reach $100 billion in tourism revenues in three years. This aim is to drive the Turkish economy to new heights by eradicating the scourge of terror that has cost our country $2 trillion. Thank Allah, we have not strayed from our goals despite the hot conflicts in our region, uncertainties in global economy, war trades ignited over tariffs, and the evil circles conspiring to hinder Türkiye. What makes us brave, resilient and strong against challenges is our unwavering confidence that we will accomplish our goals.”
Highlighting the busy schedule Türkiye has had since the party’s last group meeting, President Erdoğan stated: “We held important talks on the occasion of the G20 summit in South Africa. As you already know, G20 countries account for 85% of global economy and two thirds of the world population. With their economic might and their weight in global politics, these countries come into prominence in the search for solutions to global problems. As one of the most active members of the G20, we provide the necessary support to such efforts.”
“TÜRKİYE’S FIRM STANCE AT INTERNATIONAL PLATFORMS IS INCREASINGLY APPRECIATED”
President Erdoğan went on: “In many countries we visit, we often witness a striking picture in which a handful of elites make an appearance with the world’s most expensive brands while millions struggle to survive with an income of merely a dollar per day. We stress at every opportunity that this order, which makes the rich richer and the poor poorer, is not sustainable. We see that the messages we conveyed at the G20 were met with appreciation particularly by our African brothers and sisters. Türkiye’s firm and brave stance at international platforms is increasingly appreciated, with its calls finding a stronger echo.”
Drawing attention to Türkiye’s growing relations with Africa, President Erdoğan said: “Over the last 20 years, the number of our embassies in Africa has surged from 12 to 44, as African countries have seen their missions in Ankara rise from 10 to 38. Our trade with Africa has climbed from $5 billion to $37 billion in 20 years -- our target is $50 billion. As our direct investments have reached $10 billion, our companies have undertaken over 2,000 projects worth $97 billion. Flying to 64 destinations across 41 countries in Africa, the Turkish Airlines possesses one of the largest flight networks in the continent. Schools of the Turkish Maarif Foundation provide education to 22 thousand students. Students graduating from schools in Türkiye come to critical offices as ministers, ambassadors, bureaucrats and academics in the continent.”
“2026 WILL BE A YEAR OF INTERNATIONAL SUMMITS FOR TÜRKİYE”
President Erdoğan added: “2026 will be a year of international summits for Türkiye. We will host about 200 countries in Antalya on the occasion of COP31. In July, we will hold the NATO Summit in our capital, Ankara. The 13th Summit of the Organization of Turkic States will convene in our country. We will continue to boost Türkiye’s reputation in 2026.”
Noting that the Turkish defense industry has achieved yet another global success a couple of days ago, President Erdoğan stated: “Our unmanned combat aircraft, named KIZILELMA, successfully struck an aircraft detected by our MURAD radar with our GÖKDOĞAN missile, achieving a direct hit from air to air. Thus, KIZILELMA became the first unmanned combat aircraft capable of engaging beyond-visual-range air-to-air targets. Türkiye has therefore gained a critical advantage in obtaining strategic superiority in air defense. I hereby offer my most heartfelt gratitude to all our institutions, experts, workers and our private sector for letting our nation experience such a pride.”
