“Our goal is to make Türkiye a net exporter in resources and technology”

 

Speaking at the mass opening ceremony of 2024 Renewable Energy Investments, President Erdoğan said: “Our goal is to reduce imports, alleviate our energy bill, and ultimately make Türkiye a net exporter in resources and technology. Making more use of our country’s vast renewable energy potential and maximizing electricity generation from renewable resources constitute the key components of our energy strategy.”

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan delivered a speech at the mass opening ceremony of 2024 Renewable Energy Investments in Ankara.

“Our country’s energy needs have tripled over the last two decades. According to our forecasts, our electricity demand will increase by at least 50 percent by 2035. The share of imported resources in our energy supply is currently at the level of 70 percent. Our energy import bill is approximately between $60 billion and $100 billion, changing annually. Our goal is to reduce imports, alleviate our energy bill, and ultimately make Türkiye a net exporter in resources and technology. Making more use of our country’s vast renewable energy potential and maximizing electricity generation from renewable resources constitute the key components of our energy strategy,” President Erdoğan said.
