Speaking at the 2025-2026 School Year Opening Ceremony, President Erdoğan said: “We support the arrangements we introduce in the curriculum with the improvements we make in our teachers’ employee benefits and working conditions, and enhance the physical and technical capacity of our schools and classrooms. Our governments’ biggest investment has been in education, hence in humans.”
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan delivered a speech at the 2025-2026 School Year Opening Ceremony in Istanbul.
Noting that Türkiye’s new education model aims not only to raise humans but also to build a civilization, President Erdoğan said: “In education, we are implementing a program that is compatible with the circumstances of the 21st Century in line with the principles of democratization, equality in opportunities, inclusivity, and active participation.”
President Erdoğan stated: “We are following a multi-layered methodology that responds to the needs of the time, is skill-oriented, and encompasses our national and moral values. We support the arrangements we introduce in the curriculum with the improvements we make in our teachers’ employee benefits and working conditions, and enhance the physical and technical capacity of our schools and classrooms. Our governments’ biggest investment has been in education, hence in humans.”
Addressing students, President Erdoğan said: “Dear children, never forget that you are the future of this country. You will be the leaders of Türkiye in the future. You will lay the building blocks of the great and strong Türkiye. You will each assume critical roles in different realms of the life. You will passionately serve our country in numerous fields from sports to arts, politics to science, business to education. With the successes you will achieve, you will be a source of pride for us, for your teachers, for your families, and for your nation that believes in you. I wholeheartedly believe that you will make the Century of Türkiye come true. We, for our parts, will always stand by you with all our means and capabilities throughout your journey. We will continue doing our utmost to help you achieve your dreams and goals. I have no doubts whatsoever that you will endeavor in a self-confident and unwavering manner with the awareness that you are the children of a great nation.”
President Erdoğan continued: “Never lose sight of you ideals for yourselves, for your country, and for humanity, whatever the circumstances. Always keep in your minds, and in your hearts, your brothers and sisters in Gaza and occupied Palestinian lands whose schools have been bombed and whose teachers and friends have been murdered by a gang that is an enemy of humanity. I want you to think not only tomorrow but also way beyond while studying, constantly improving yourselves and expanding your knowledge and qualifications. I am fully confident in you. I wish success to you all.”
