President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan addressed via videoconference the command center of operation Claw-Lightning and Claw-Thunderbolt, which Turkey has launched to eliminate terrorist threats.
Stating that the Turkish Armed Forces fights with perseverance and determination against dangers that threaten the national security, President Erdoğan said: “We are proud of our heroic military and all of its members that carry out this historic struggle.”

Stressing that Turkey doesn’t deviate even the slightest from such humanitarian values as justice and law while waging its fight today as has been the case throughout history, President Erdoğan said: “Our objective is to fully eliminate the terrorist presence sought to be formed along our southern borders and destroy terrorist threats against our country. We are determined to eradicate terror and rid our citizens of the terror scourge completely. Our heroic military’s successful operations, which have recently been targeting centers of terror directly, indicate that we are close to achieving this objective of ours.”
Announcing that the Turkish Armed Forces launched last night the operation Claw-Lightning and Claw-Thunderbolt against the PKK terrorist organization in the north of Iraq, President Erdoğan said that a large number of terrorists have been neutralized thus far in the operation. Stressing that the operation, conducted in a manner respecting Iraq’s territorial integrity, will also contribute to ensuring regional peace, President Erdoğan underlined that there is no place for the separatist terrorist organization and terror in the future of Turkey, Iraq, and Syria.
“Within the framework of our rights stemming from international law, we will continue our fight until we eradicate these pack of murderers that cause nothing but bloodshed, tears and destruction in our region,” the President said, adding that it is also a source of pride for Turkey that domestic defense industry products are being used in the operation.
