President Erdoğan: All the countries in the region will benefit from the peace in the Caucasus

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who is in Baku for an official visit, addressed the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan.

Expressing his happiness to be in Azerbaijan, President Erdoğan described the liberation of Karabakh as the most important incident that has taken place in Azerbaijan after it became independent 30 years ago, and said: “With this victory, a bleeding wound has been closed in the Caucasus and a chance has arisen for lasting peace and tranquility in the region. Not only Azerbaijan but all the countries in the region, including Armenia, and the entire world as well, will benefit from the peace and tranquility in the Caucasus.”

“THE WAY TO LASTING PEACE IS THROUGH COOPERATION AMONG REGIONAL STATES”

Underscoring that it is the people of Karabakh that have sustained material and spiritual losses due to the 30-year-long crisis in the region, President Erdoğan stated: “Those who have been a mere onlooker to the deadlock in the 30-year-long dispute in Karabakh, to be more precise those who have sought the protraction of the crisis have always been on the winning side. We believe that the way to lasting peace is through the cooperation all the states and peoples in the region are to forge on the basis of mutual trust.”
