President Erdoğan: Almost every issue that takes place in the region directly concerns Turkey
President and Party Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made a speech at the party’s Provincial Congress in Van.
Wishing Allah’s mercy upon those who lost their lives in the earthquake in Izmir yesterday and a speedy recovery to the injured, President Erdoğan said that the state has mobilized all its means starting from the moment of the earthquake to help the citizens affected by the quake.
“THE WORLD IS EXPERIENCING THE PAIN OF TRANSITIONING INTO A NEW ERA”
Pointing out that the world is experiencing the pain of transitioning into a new era both politically and economically, President Erdoğan noted: “We see that such maladies as fascism, racism and xenophobia of the Western countries, which introduce themselves as the cradles of democracy and freedoms, recur at once in the face of the first serious crisis. Those who attempt to defend the ugliness displayed towards the prophet of religion and the leader of a country under the pretext of freedoms do the biggest harm to democracy.”
“EVERY INSULT HURLED AT OUR PROPHET TARGETS ALL MUSLIMS”
Stressing that Turkey is the country that is targeted the most during this period, President Erdoğan went on to say: “The rising of Islamophobia in some countries, France in particular, in the recent period is the sign that the crook mentality, which has repeatedly dragged Europe into tragedy, still continues to exist.”
“We are well aware of the fact that every insult hurled at our Prophet targets all Muslims, and that every insult hurled at me targets all the citizens of the Republic of Turkey,” continued President Erdoğan, adding: “Almost every issue that takes place in the region and the world directly concerns Turkey. The reason why Turkey takes up such an active position in many issues from Libya to Karabakh is both to protect its own rights and to show that it stands with its friends during difficult times.”
