President Erdoğan arrives in US capital Washington

 

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan arrived in Washington from New York to meet with President Donald Trump of the USA, following his participation in the 80th Session of the UN General Assembly.

President Erdoğan was bid farewell at John F. Kennedy International Airport by Türkiye's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Ahmet Yıldız, and Türkiye's Consul General in New York, Ambassador Muhittin Ahmet Yazal.

President Erdoğan and First Lady Emine Erdoğan landed at the Joint Base Andrews Airfield near the capital city, Washington. Türkiye's Ambassador to Washington, Sedat Önal, and other officials welcomed President Erdoğan and his delegation at the Joint Base Andrews Airfield.

President Erdoğan and First Lady Emine Erdoğan were accompanied to Washington by Alparslan Bayraktar, the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources; Yaşar Güler, the Minister of National Defence; İbrahim Kalın, the Director of the National Intelligence Organisation; Burhanettin Duran, the Presidency's Head of Communications; Haluk Görgün, the Secretary of the Defence Industries; Hasan Doğan, the Chief of Cabinet to the President; and Akif Çağatay Kılıç, the Chief Advisor to the President on Foreign Policy and Security.

Upon arriving from the airfield, President Erdoğan and Emine Erdoğan were welcomed with displays of affection by the citizens at the Blair House of the White House, where they spent the night.

On the other hand, it was observed that the US Secret Service took extensive security measures around the Blair House, where President Erdoğan was accommodated.

President Erdoğan and President Donald Trump of the United States will hold a meeting in Washington. 

The meeting will focus on strengthening bilateral cooperation, particularly in trade, investment and the defence industry.
