President Erdoğan attended the Manavgat – Akseki Village Houses Turnkey Ceremony after the Fire Disaster
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan delivered a speech at the key delivery ceremony of village houses built after fire disaster in Manavgat-Akseki in Antalya.
Wishing Allah’s mercy upon our 8 citizens who lost their lives during the fire in the summer of 2021, President Erdoğan said: “The fire went on for 11 days across 59 neighborhoods of Manavgat, Alanya, Gündoğmuş and Akseki districts. We put into action the Türkiye Disaster Response Plan, and responded with all the means of our state to this disaster, which burned our 61,500-hectares of forest along with our lungs.”
Noting that over 8 thousand personnel, 40 aircrafts, 2 thousand land vehicles participated in the efforts to extinguish the fire, President Erdoğan said that approximately TL300 million was provided by the state to support the citizens affected by the disaster.
Recalling that following the damage assessment, construction of 900 new houses, 4 village centers and a mosque was started, President Erdoğan said: “Today, we are delivering the keys to 427 of these houses to their owners. The village centers in Evrenseki, Kalemler and Kepezbeleni are almost complete. We will complete the rest of the houses and other constructions as soon as possible.”
Congratulating the ministries, institutions and contractors who contributed to the swift completion of the constructions, President Erdoğan said: “There is no other example in the world who can conduct such a quick disaster management.”
“Thanks to the system we established with the support of our nation, we have not heard our people cry ‘where is the state?’ during any of the disasters that recently took place. On the contrary, only the images of our people, who prayed for their state that immediately rushed to help them in the aftermath of every disaster, remained in our memories. Inshallah, we will never let Türkiye fall below this level. We will continue to develop our disaster response system and strengthen our infrastructure by utilizing all the technological means available,” President Erdoğan said.
