President Erdoğan attends August 30 Victory Day ceremony at Anıtkabir
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan attended a ceremony held at Anıtkabir (Atatürk’s mausoleum) to mark the 97th anniversary of August 30 Victory Day.
After President Erdoğan laid a wreath at the mausoleum, the Turkish National Anthem, the Independence March, was sung.
Proceeding to the Misak-ı Milli Tower, President Erdoğan wrote in Anıtkabir memorial book the following:
“August Atatürk, we today observe with pride the 97th anniversary of the Great Victory. We remember with gratitude all our commanders, first and foremost your Excellency, our officers, soldiers and every member of our nation who contributed to the Great Victory, one of the golden links of our history.
We are determined to protect the Republic, which you entrusted to us and rises on our martyrs’ sacrifices, at the cost of our lives. The unwavering struggle we have been carrying out both at home and outside our borders against threats targeting our national survival is the proof of this determination of ours. No power will be able to prevent Turkey from achieving its goals for 2023. Rest in peace.”
