President Erdoğan attends ceremony at Çanakkale Martyrs’ Memorial

 

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan attended a ceremony held at Çanakkale Martyrs’ Memorial on the occasion of the March 18th Martyrs’ Day and the 104th anniversary of the Çanakkale Victory.

Minister of National Defense Hulusi Akar, Minister of Labor, Social Services and Family Zehra Zümrüt Selçuk, Chief of General Staff Gen. Yaşar Güler and force commanders, President of Religious Affairs Ali Erbaş, and other officials were also present at the ceremony.

After inspecting the guard of honor, President Erdoğan listened to the recitation of Holy Quran and joined the prayer said. Laying a wreath at the Martyrs’ Memorial afterwards, the President signed the memorial book and laid carnations at martyrs’ graves.

Following the ceremony, President Erdoğan inaugurated the Çanakkale Martyrs’ Memorial Mosque, and thanked those who contributed to the construction of the mosque during a brief speech he delivered.
