President Erdoğan attends ceremony marking AK Party’s 18th foundation anniversary

 

President and Party Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan attended in Ankara a ceremony marking the 18th foundation anniversary of AK Party.

Delivering a speech during the ceremony, President Erdoğan, referring to Turkey’s ongoing drilling activities in the East Mediterranean, said the works are carried out by three drilling ships, and added: “We know our rights. Just as we will protect to the end the rights of our kinsmen in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, we will protect our own rights to the end as well. What falls to us is to fulfill this big responsibility.”

Also touching upon Turkey’s achievements in the fight against terror, President Erdoğan said that the operations will continue inside and outside the borders. Pointing to the phone call he held with President Vladimir Putin of the Russian Federation concerning the Syria issue, President Erdoğan, noting that he will hold a talk with U.S. President Donald Trump as well, added: “What really matters is to immediately overcome these issues in the south, Syria in particular, and to create an environment where peace prevails.”
