President Erdoğan attends Debut of Independence Ballads on May 19 Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan met with national athletes and youth representatives at the debut of Independence Ballads on the occasion of the May 19 Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day at Convention and Culture Center of the Grand Ankara Mosque.

“I remember with grace all our martyrs, veterans and heroes who sacrificed their lives without hesitation to make these lands our homeland since the Battle of Manzikert to the War of Independence. I remember with gratitude every single member of our military, from its Commander-in-Chief Ghazi Mustafa Kemal to the privates, who crowned with triumph the fire of independence, kindled in Samsun on May 19, 1919 by driving the enemy to the sea in İzmir on September 9, 1922,” President Erdoğan said.

“NEVER GIVE UPON YOUR DREAMS”

Praising the youth as the assurance of Türkiye’s independence and future, President Erdoğan said: “The greatest legacy we will leave to you will be our vision for 2053, which we will realize upon the robust infrastructure of democracy and development we built. As a senior man who dedicated his life since his early youth to the cause of civilization and justice, who put up many struggles and faced numerous challenges, I say ‘never give upon your dreams.’ Do not mind the difficult circumstances. Do not succumb to the lack of means. Do not be afraid of the size of the obstacles you face on your path. Do not let any of these steer you away from your goals that you grow in your hearts and shape in your minds.”
