President Erdoğan attends grand final of Holy Quran Recitation Contest

 

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan attended the grand final of the Holy Quran Recitation Contest.

Making a speech at the contest, President Erdoğan drew attention to the recent incidents of animosity towards Islam and Muslims, and Quran burnings in some European countries in a bid to achieve political gain, and said: “In fact, these acts of vandalism carried out by some malignant people are a sign of their ignorance. It is impossible for anyone who has read even the translation of the Holy Quran, let alone the language in which it was sent, to nurture enmity toward this holy book. Obviously, not everyone is fortunate enough to meet the Holy Quran, join its divine climate and comprehend its centuries-old messages.”
