President Erdoğan attends MÜSİAD’s “Türkiye’s Power Awards” ceremony
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan attended an event marking the 32nd foundation anniversary of the Independent Industrialists’ and Businessmen’s Association (MÜSİAD), and “Türkiye’s Power Awards” ceremony at Atatürk Cultural Center in Istanbul.
Delivering a speech at the ceremony, President Erdoğan said: “I thank each and every one of you for the courtesy extended to me. For the rest of my life, I will hold with pride the ‘Türkiye’s Power Special Award’ as a symbol of your appreciativeness, our long-standing friendship, solidarity and comradeship.”
Noting that the number of Turkish enterprises, valued at or over $1 billion, reached 6, President Erdoğan said that Turkish start-ups began to export technology to numerous developed countries.
“OUR 12-MONTH EXPORT VOLUME EXCEEDED $240 BILLION IN APRIL”
Pointing out that factories were working around the clock to deliver orders, President Erdoğan said: “Foreign and domestic entrepreneurs’ appetite for investment continues to rise. We have surpassed 30 million in terms of employment. Our industrial production and export volume keeps breaking new records every month. We had closed 2021 with an export volume of $225 billion and set great goals for 2022. As of April, our 12-month export volume exceeded $240 billion. Türkiye’s export-import coverage ratio excluding energy has exceeded 100 percent.”
“We are firmly advancing towards our year-end target of $250 billion,” President Erdoğan underscored. “With all our means, we will continue to stand by our visionary, hardworking, nation and country-loving businessmen who believe in the potential of our country, and who set their heart on the ideal of a great and powerful Türkiye.”
