President Erdoğan attends opening and groundbreaking ceremony in Serbia

 

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan delivered a speech at the mass opening ceremony of Turkish investments there and the groundbreaking ceremony of the Sarajevo-Belgrade Highway.

President Aleksandar Vučić of Serbia, Chairman Željko Komšić and Members Šefik Džaferović and Milorad Dodik of the Bosnia and Herzegovina Presidential Council were also present at the ceremony.

“Our historical and cultural legacy is our shared wealth. Every work on these lands are monuments of our solidarity ad cooperation. With the inspiration, strength and courage we derive from the past, we will build our future together,” President Erdoğan said.

“Turkey’s sole desire is peace and stability in the Balkans. In the last quarter of century, these lands have experienced grave sufferings and paid very serious costs. We should see our differences not as an element of conflict but as our wealth, and build our future together. We should improve our cooperation in all areas.”

Thanking President Vučić for his hospitality, President Erdoğan said: “I believe we with all our esteemed friends here will build the region’s future in a much more robust manner.”
