President Erdoğan attends Opening Ceremony of the Judicial Year 2022-2023
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan delivered a speech at the Opening Ceremony of the Judicial Year 2022-2023 at the Court of Cassation.
“I hope, on centenary of our Republic, we will take inventory of and assess the experience and knowledge we have gained in the past century, and measure the progress we have made. I also hope the year 2023 will bring us the spirit to think, contemplate, dream, and set new goals about our visions for our next century. I believe we need to exert such an effort regarding our justice system, judicial institutions and legal infrastructure as well as other areas,” President Erdoğan said.
“TÜRKİYE IS A DEMOCRATIC, SECULAR AND SOCIAL STATE OF LAW”
“As stated in its Constitution, Türkiye is a democratic, secular and social state of law. The ‘state of law,’ which is the common ground of all our state’s characteristics specified in our Constitution, is an emphasis of utmost importance with historical origins. This quest lies at the center of all the struggles in human history. In the past 20 years, we have made significant reforms to strengthen our country’s characteristic as a state of law. Such topics as people’s rights and freedoms, women’s rights, children’s rights and improving our justice system have been the most important elements of our reforms.”
