President Erdoğan attends State Commendation Medal Conferment Ceremony
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan attended the State Commendation Medal Conferment Ceremony held at the Presidential Complex.
Expressing his pleasure for hosting martyrs’ families and ghazis at the Presidential Complex, President Erdoğan said: “I once again wish Allah’s mercy upon our august martyrs and extend my condolences to their families and our nation.”
Describing the medals to be conferred today as a manifestation of the state’s gratitude for martyrs’ families and ghazis, President Erdoğan said: “Our brothers who have died a martyr’s death or become veterans at the operations we have carried out at home and abroad are the latest soldiers in our 1,000-year-long fight to render these lands our homeland.”
Drawing attention to overt and covert attacks on Turkey, President Erdoğan noted: “If we show even the slightest negligence in this fight of ours, they will confront us with impositions that are much worse than the Sevres. It is due to our strength in every area, from politics to economy and from infrastructure to defense industry, that they dare not actually mess with us.”
Also pointing to the 106th anniversary of the Çanakkale Victory, President Erdoğan stressed: “I, on this occasion, wholeheartedly congratulate our nation on the anniversary of March 18 Çanakkale Victory. I remember with grace each and every one of our heroes, our martyrs and ghazis in particular, who made history in Çanakkale.”
