President Erdoğan attends Victory Day ceremony at Anıtkabir

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan attended a ceremony held at Anıtkabir (Atatürk's mausoleum) on the August 30 Victory and Turkish Armed Forces Day.

After President Erdoğan laid a wreath at the mausoleum, a minute of silence was observed and the Turkish National Anthem, the Independence March, was sung.

Proceeding to the Misak-ı Milli Tower, President Erdoğan wrote in the Anıtkabir memorial book the following:

“August Atatürk;

Today, we as a nation are celebrating with pride the 103rd anniversary of the Great Victory.

We remember with gratitude your Excellency, your comrades-in-arms, our heroic martyrs and veterans, who won the great victory that consolidated Anatolia as our eternal homeland.

Those harboring imperialist ambitions do not stand idly by today, just as they were a century ago, but are pursuing their insidious plans. In the face of plans to destabilize our region, our state is taking every measure to ensure its own security and the peace of its citizens. The Republic of Türkiye, which you entrusted to us, is in safe hands under the leadership of reliable and competent cadres.

Rest in peace.”
