President Erdoğan: Ballot boxes are the honor of democracies

 

President and Party Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan addressed party members during a meeting of the Istanbul Presiding Officers held at Sinan Erdem Sports Hall.

Making remarks on the local elections scheduled for March 31, President Erdoğan underlined that the Turkish electoral system has such a transparency that sets an example for the world.

“BALLOT BOXES ARE THE HONOR OF DEMOCRACIES”

Stating that ballot boxes are the honor of democracies, President Erdoğan noted: “The ways and methods of protecting ballot boxes are laid bare in both our political tradition and our statutes.” Underscoring that the better they protect the ballot boxes the more they would contribute to the reflection of the people’s will in the administration of municipalities, President Erdoğan said: “If we work properly, we will have protected the honor of ballot boxes. Whatever the outcome of the elections will be, it is valuable to us. All we have to do is to exert the necessary effort to win the hearts of our people.”
