President Erdoğan: City hospitals have been one of the healthcare facilities we have been most proud of during the pandemic
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made a speech at the opening ceremony of Kocaeli University Healthcare Facilities and Research Centers.
Stating that the importance of social state was better understood during the coronavirus pandemic, President Erdoğan noted that Turkey had the opportunity to test its healthcare system and to see its strong and weak aspects. The President added: “Alhamdulillah, we have successfully overcome the most critical phase thanks to our strong healthcare infrastructure and the sacrifices of our medical personnel. None of the disturbing and disgraceful scenes witnessed in many other places were seen in our country.”
Stressing that each one of the 83 million citizens of Turkey was offered first class healthcare service regardless of their income during the pandemic, President Erdoğan went on to say: “None of our citizens under the threat of pandemic were turned down by hospitals. No patient was denied treatment, either. Particularly, our city hospitals have been one of the healthcare facilities we have most benefitted from and we have been most proud of during the pandemic.” The President further highlighted that Turkey, besides meeting its own needs, has sent medical supplies to 150 countries and six international organizations.
